Most every team has completed there first week of practice and most likely had a scrimmage. Overall which side has dominated the most Offense or Defense? for your team

Tennessee has had one scrimmage and looks like the Defense is further along.
which is not a surprise to me.

Same for MSU, the defense dominated.

The UF defense has looked awesome...the DL, LBs, and DBs are ready to go! The DL has also been beneficial to the new starters on the OL...they're going against one of the top DL in the nation everyday.

The UF offense looks great as well...Wynn is running very well, despite missing some practices with flu-like symptoms....Leak is sharp and playing his best football...Tebow is also looking very sharp, reading defenses and changing plays like a veteran QB. The WRs are unstoppable....Baker, Cornelius, Caldwell, Tookes, Ingram, Harvin, Casey, Fayson, Nelson, Boetang and Murphy have all made big plays....as far as the freshman, Harvin and Fayson are nearly un-coverable...these two can absolutely fly.

Things are lookin' very good in Gainesville so far...

Our defense is definitely going to be the strong point for our team. Which is really scary when you look at Chris Leak, Dallas Baker, Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin, DeShawn Wynn and all the talent we have on the offensive side of the ball.

Yep...I look for this UF team to be improved simply based on depth. We had none last year and it really cost us vs LSU and USCE...definitely ready to see Leak pick up where he left off last season.

Ask me day to day..... We have been really physical already this summer...

More players are on the sidelines nursing injuries then I can recall before this year.

It is usually the case that the defense progresses more rapidly. First, they know what the offense is doing. Second, the offense doesn't.

If the defense doesn't DOMINATE, then we're not talking AlaDAMNbama football.

Defense has definitely been the strongest. (the Hogs return 10 def starters) But honestly with McFadden out and Felix wearing a "no touch me" jersey, it's pretty hard for the offense to really simulate game action.

The QB battle is a mess.

Probably a draw in Oxford. A serious running game has emerged in but the reviever position is unstable. It doesn't matter how good Schaeffer is if no one catches the ball. Defensively, linebackers are extremely talented (Patrick Willis is a freak of nature) and we have a veteran backfield, but there are quite a few youngsters on the line. We really need Jerrell Powe to qualify. . .

yeah, the d-line is going to be sick....harris should be back 100% and i hear the same for ray mac...2 deep across the board and all can play...joe cohen is coming on like an all-star finally and competition does nothing but make everyone better.

as far as rb, brandon james is supposedly the surprise of camp....all 5-7 feet of him is supposeldy tough to wrap up.....siler got caught whiffing a couple of times the other day due to a james juke.

i have heard differing reports on tebow...supposedly, he is having trouble on the longer throws(he hasnt learned "touch" yet i dont think) but he is tough to stop when he turns the ball up the field.

my biggest area of concern was db's and now i think they are locked down with smith coming in and t mccollum stepping up....i almost hope nelson moves back over to S and let smith and whomever else fight it out for that job.

at this point, i would say our D is much further along than our O.....that said, i havent seen a drill yet where the D didnt know if the play was a pass or run, so any time they know you are 1 dimensional, that makes it tough.

on a side note, the coaches the other day were letting the d-line go up against the o-line with the only objective was to pin the ears back and get to the qb. the coaches where timing the drill and the o-line was averaging about 3.5 sec of protection. not great, but considering the variables, that is functional.

are you kidding me?? our defense gave up 375 yards and 5 td's in the scrimmage. offense dominated. inexperienced D is having to go up against the likes of Sidney Rice, Blake Mitchell and Mike Davis.

Almost all offenses struggle somewhat in the pre-season as the coaches try to make wholesale or slight adjustments to keep defenses off balcance or implement new systems. If the offense is playing better than the defense in camp, then 1 of 2 things is true.

1. You have a pretty good offense.

or

2. You don't stand a chance against Chris Leak!

This has me worried. Even against a fairly good offense, the defense should be at an advantage this time of year. This does not bode well for the season if the defense does not make dramatic improvement.

^ That is exactly what I meant by my point #1 above. But it also means that your offense is looking very competent, and even a lot of SEC defenses have trouble shutting down Mitchell and Rice. So I wouldn't be all that worried unless the defense is getting manhandled.

I am looking forward to seeing our 3 running backs going up against that defense. Blake, Rice, etc. may not see the field that much in Cola against the Dawgs. Run it down there throats and keep the Cock N Fire on the bench.

I think that game will be decided by fewer than 10 points. Spurrier is going to have SC fired up all year, and the scariest thing is probably that, after last year they actually have some confidence. USC knows that it can beat some good teams now and I think that will make them more dangerous than anything. Well, except Sidney Rice, that is.

The USC/GA game is usually a defensive, down-to-the-wire affair, and I have no reason to believe it will be otherwise this year.

Well then I would say that bodes pretty well for the Dawgs. They always have a consistently stingy defense and can usually keep a game close down to the wire. Man just talkin' about all this great SEC football we have in front of us makes me want to light up the grill and get out there!

But you know USC has never had a "great" defense and we have still always hung in with UGA. I think this year USC has more offense than they usually have and UGA dosent have a leader(atleast not a QB) on the team yet.

I agree with you completely. I think USC's offense will be enough to outscore a lot of teams. I also feel like Georgia won't have a D.J. Shockley this year. The thing about Shockley was that he was a senior and he had been around the players and the team for a long time. I don't think there is any way that Stafford can step in there and have as much success as D.J. Personally, I don't think Tereshinski is all that great either. He did have a good game last year, but I don't see him being the leadership type. Idk i could be wrong, but I have this one penciled in as a win for SC.

IMO. Ga's D is strong enough to get the W w/o a lot of Offense. However, if the "O" starts making mistakes and giving SC a short field, the Cocks will score. Spur loves going for the jugular after an opponent's offensive mistake.

This one's gonna depend on how much rope Richt gives his new QB.
