I'm hearing from other sites as well as other alumni that the MSU program would like for coach Polk to resign as head coach of the Bulldog baseball program. . . can anybody else out there give me some insight???

Sorry for the slow response , I haven't been here for a few days and just now saw your post.

Well the grumblings are there for sure. I have seen polls on 2 different MSU sites where the fans voted for polk to leave at a rate of over 70%. The criticism aimed at polk is at an alltime high.

I had a very good sourse tell me that the big money givers at MSU were growing tired of polk's act and were going to put the pressure on to have him "retire". This guy is usually very accurate with his info and I don't have any doubts that there are several who would like to see a change. However polk probably still has supporters among the high dollar givers also and has already said that he wouldn't quit on his own. Templeton responded just by saying that polk is a great coach and is still our baseball coach.

I wish I had more to tell , but that is about it. The thing I heard about him being pressured into retiring was a few weeks ago and I haven't heard anything since.

I would say that if something is going to happen it will happen in the next 3 weeks. If polk is still our coach at the end of June then he will likely return next year.

My gut feeling , Sadly I think he will be back. Getting into the NCAA tourney and actually winning a couple of games along with the good showing vs. Clemson may have bought him another year.

This thing could get VERY ugly next year. If the Dogs flounder in the SEC next year the cry for polk to leave will be louder than ever and become an embarressing thing for MSU. The pitching should be just as good if not better , but I don't know where the offense will come from.
