Bengals pick Nicholson, Rouse charged in alleged theft

Two former Florida State football players have been charged with stealing electronic equipment worth approximately $1,700 from the home of a current player, Tallahassee Police told ESPN on Wednesday.
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker A.J. Nicholson and former wide receiver Fred Rouse, who was dismissed by coach Bobby Bowden at the end of last season for detrimental conduct, are charged with burglarizing the Tallahassee home of current Florida State running back Lorenzo Booker on May 20 or 21.
Rouse confessed his involvement to authorities on May 28, according to police. Rouse was arrested and charged with three felonies: burglary of a dwelling, grand theft and unrelated possessions of a controlled substance without a prescription, which was ecstasy. Rouse has been released on bond.
A warrant is out for the arrest of Nicholson, who faces felony charges of burglary of a dwelling and grand theft and criminal mischief, which is a misdemeanor.
"Obviously, Lorenzo's not really happy that his former teammates, Rouse and Nicholson, did this," Tallahassee Police Public Information Officer John Newland said. "This incident occurred May 20 and A.J. was drafted in April. You knew you were leaving. Why would you put yourself through this? It's just really unfortunate."
A police source said that among the items investigators found at Booker's home was a wide receivers glove with "1," Rouse's former jersey number, stitched into the inside of it. The glove had been left under a color television that had been thrown onto the floor.
Entrance to the home, police said, was made by breaking a rear window. In gaining entry, the suspects appeared to cut themselves as they left blood there and on one of Bookers' roommate's sheets. Police later found drops of blood at the exterior of the home of Nicholson's girlfriend.
In a sworn, taped interview on May 28, Rouse said Nicholson entered the home and carried out two portable stereos, a DVD player and a pair of headphones. Rouse also said Nicholson had sustained a substantial cut on a finger.
Nicholson, who was accused of a sexual assault in Miami and sent home from the Orange Bowl, was selected by the Bengals in the fifth round. Nicholson, who has pleaded no contest to a DUI arrest and had another incident with Tallahassee police that led to dropped charges of resisting arrest, has not been charged in the sexual assault case.
Rouse, one of the nation's top freshman prospects last season, and a native of Tallahassee, had only six catches for 114 yards and one touchdown. Rouse also returned 11 punts for 97 yards and six kickoffs for 107 yards.

Isn't it funny how the NCAA avoids f$u like the plague...they get away with everything from recruiting violations...(they actually invite prospects to their annual football banquet and get former players like Deion Sanders and Derrick Brooks to "recruit" them...which is a huge violation)....to actually trying to injure opponents on the field (see Earnest Graham and Danny Wuerffel)...f$u is an embarassment to college football....and the state of Florida.

I definately don't like UGA...I respect them, however, because I know the history and recognize the dawgs as a pretty classy, well-coached team...now, with f$u, there's no respect or anything else..."good". I truly loath the criminoles and have since birth!!

Since birth?
If I were to think back that far, I would be just the opposite. When I was very young, I was a big GaTech fan. Generations of my family including my brother, father and uncles were all Tech graduates. I had too many friends that were all Dogs fans and I had no intention of ever going to Tech. My sister and I were both Dogs. We were the black sheep of the family or rather the red and black sheep. I have never had that hate for Tech however, except of course for the week we play them and I love giving my brother grief over it.

I'm happy to say that my family is all Orange and Blue. No 'noles allowed!!!
Now my wife's family consists of a few noles...but they are all crazy!!!
My dad brought me home in a Gator blanket from the hospital and I've never looked back!!! I love our SEC rivalries with UGA, UT, LSU, Bama and Aub...and let's not forget USC...but I don't hate these teams or their fans...f$u is a different thing all-together....if f$u was playing the University of Hell and satan himself were their starting QB...I would be in the stands in a red cape with matching pitch-fork rootin' against them!!!!!!! :flaming:

Poor Geaux...little do you know that you are describing the scenario for the tiggers this year....you'll lose to Arizona...Stoops will have 'em ready...you'll also lose to Auburn in the Plains....to UF at The Swamp....Tennesse in Knoxville...and Arky may even get y'all in Fayetteville....that's at least 4 losses for sure...maybe a fifth. After this season, it'll be Leslie that's in the hot seat....maybe then I'll actually hear him speak...until then, I'll have to continue to believe he's a puppet....trying to make it on Saban's sloppy seconds......

There is a web site that has all the crimnoles records on it . I wish I could remember the site but anyways it is a shame. I don't pretend we have been great but they are unbelivable.Thing is blooby has not taken a big stand on this and they seem to be pround to put as many felons on the field.I feel the same as Hunter they are a shame to Florida.Zook wanted to take us down that road and a thats why it is so great to have a guy like Meyer I want whats right and to stay on the field you have to not only play good you have to respect your self and your University!!!I am proud of the SEC we are not saints but we respect our schools.

I think the sleaziness of the CrimiNoles at Florida State is seeping into the city of Tallahassee. We've stopped there on several occasions to eat on journeys to see my sister in Bradenton, and some of the people eating and serving the food look like CrimiNole football rejects, recruits, and players. Not an enticing place.
