I'm surprised no one has any commentary on this yet. It's an interesting list...and MUCH different from Maisel's take:

1. Ohio State Buckeyes
2. Oklahoma Sooners
3. West Virginia Mountaineers
4. Texas Longhorns
5. Florida State Seminoles
6. USC Trojans
7. California Golden Bears
8. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
9. Auburn Tigers
10. Iowa Hawkeyes
11. Clemson Tigers
12. Florida Gators
13. LSU Tigers
14. Oregon Ducks
15. Nebraska Cornhuskers
16. Michigan Wolverines
17. Louisville Cardinals
18. Miami Hurricanes
19. TCU Horned Frogs
20. Boston College Eagles
21. Penn State Nittany Lions
22. Georgia Bulldogs
23. UTEP Miners
24. Virginia Tech Hokies
25. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Nebraska a top-15 team? I think he's drinking the bowl game win over a bored Michigan team (yes, I know NU led the nation in sacks, but the north is horrendous and they won't win any games they shouldn't this year--USC, Texas, Tech, OU--and maybe a few they should--CU, Kansas).
Iowa is way too high considering who they lost. A lot of these teams have 10+-spot movement if you compare polls. I know lists are subjective, but "experts" should be closer than this, imo.

And to top it all off: only 4 SEC teams in the top-25? Crazy.

Thoughts?

Those are the top four teams in the SEC there. It's hard to put Alabama in the top 25 after losing Croyle and so many good players off the defensive side of the ball. IF that list were to have a "Received Votes" category, Alabama would probably be sitting at 27 or so. Same with South Carolina. Probably around 30.

Florida should win 9 games next year. I see them losing them to South Car., LSU, and Auburn... For some reason I see USC winning the East this season. I am really high on Blake Mitchell. He grew up a lot last season and should do the same this off-season with Spurrier at the realms. Look for Florida in Atlanta in '07, '08, and on and on...

we were a mere missed extra point away from it last year, I realize the odds are against us, but its not a completely bizzare prediction.

I never said it was completely "bizzare" or bizarre. I just thought it was funny especially when your coach's quoted goal is "wanting to win more than we lose". Then again when you can get Hunter and me laughing at the exact same post it is kind of bizarre.

The joke could very well be on us this season but, while y'all's future may be a little brighter than it used to be, I don't see y'all jumping over UF, UGA, and UT all in the same season this year. I know y'all came pretty close last year but I just feel y'all lost a lot of depth this past season, to make it happen this season.

The Razorbacks and Gamecocks meet in the SECC game. You heard it here first! It's College football and anything can happen.

Certainly possible. Unlikely. Improbable. But not impossible.
It would make for the most newsworthy SEC season in a long, long while. And it would be a repeat game, wouldn't it, because they would have already met during the regular season.

If I had to pick one team on our schedule that I didn't want to play twice, then Arkansas may be that team. I say that in all seriousness.

Oklahoma #1? Umm, OK. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Everything else looks OK to me, though. Florida is the top team on paper this year and is probably deserving of its #5 ranking. I'd rank LSU over Auburn and put South Carolina in somewhere. Why is Penn State not in the Top 25?

Of course, this is all to begin the season. The season will not end the way it starts, believe that. A lot can and will happen.

I noticed that as well, no Penn St. AGAIN. Neither ND or Penn State were preseason ranked last season and both played in BCS Bowl Games hahha.

Hey, at least I'm not making ridiculous predictions on my own team. If I do recall, South Carolina was 2 points away of beating Georgia, and did beat Florida last season.

Maybe GatorHunter is just a little jealous that Spurrier is going to be successful in somewhere other than Gainesville?

Wrong again, gonads...

I actually want USC to win every single game but the one played on Nov. 11th...Spurrier can coach anywhere...but he'll always be a Gator.

So what about sc do you like so much more than bama? If we lose to sc, we lose to bama, too, and I don't think that is happening. IMO, UF wins the East this year....my only real concern: a red hot Stafford who plays the game of his life as a true frosh, beating UF and getting the tie-breaker. Could happen, not likely, but it could happen. Georgia has enough weapons to make that a dangerous game if they can find a QB.

From what I've been reading, several experts have us losing to UT as one of our two losses (Auburn). I'll take a 10-2 season with only one East loss (to a UT team that will lose more than one probably).

I agree...I think we lose 2 games this year...but I don't think one will be UT...I think the biggest contenders for giving us a loss are Aub., LSU, and UGA.

South Carolina has a QB and a coach. Bama loses Brodie and half their 'D'. Also, Spurrier is a better coach than Shula, especially in the close games. South Carolina will surprise my friends, just you wait.

USCocks surprised this past season, no one will be taking them "lightly" this season.

This goes against my better judgement, but UF will probably beat UT.

I agree...I think we lose 2 games this year...but I don't think one will be UT...I think the biggest contenders for giving us a loss are Aub., LSU, and UGA.I think you lose 2 for sure (LSU and Auburn), and maybe 3 (Georgia). You could end up losing 4 (South Carolina) if Spurs gets that QB jelling. If you beat us, even though it is in the Swamp, I will be very surprised and give you your due. I think we will have beaten Auburn at J-H by the time we play you, so if you beat us I think you will beat Auburn, too, because, even though they think differently, they don't have nearly the horses that we do. You will have done something if you beat us, IMO. Georgia is a little bit of a mystery; they could easily hand you a loss. And even though you get Spurs in the Swamp, he is cagey and savy and one heck of a coach; very dangerous, even in your pen. I don't think you will have trouble with the Vols. Ainge is psychotic and cannot be depended on. Their defensive secondary is also suspect. You should take them without too much trouble, especially with your defense.
