There are a lot of folks in Georgia that would agree with you. This guy is dreaming sometimes with the things he thinks he can pull off. The fans were calling it that many many years before CBS was. He can maybe stop CBS but that is about it. It would be like thinking you could stop drinking at Mardi Gras.

While I have no problem with the name of the game and I think it is great tradition for southern football, I do have a serious question. When did this game solely become played in J-ville and why do Gainesville and Athens not push for a home and home series to get some revenue sharing out of the deal instead of dumping the money into J-ville?

The game has been played in Jax every year since 1933 except for a couple of seasons in in the 90s when the stadium was being converted from the Gator Bowl to Alltel for the Jaguars. The game is not moving and has no reason to move. The last Saturday in October in Jax is one of the biggest traditions in college football. It is more than tradition however. The game means at least 30 million dollars to both the coastal Georgia and Jax economies. The net payout to each team dwarfs the payouts from 2/3 of the post season bowls. It is more than either team would ever make from a home and home series and neither town could handle the crowds that this game attracts. All hotel rooms from Savannah to Jax are filled and the hotels have a four day minimum stay for this game.

It was a home-n-home series for 2 years in the mid-90's, I was there when UGA came to Gainesville and I also went to Athens...I like it the way it is, though...fun to walk into a stadium that's half red & black and half Orange & Blue!

GH, I loved it when Bama and Allbarn fans were 50/50 in Birmingham and I hated they moved it at the time, but Legion Field is such a dump now and it was for the better.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't all that concerned about them moving it, doubt seriously it will ever happen. I am sure J-Ville has a stranglehold on the game being played there for quite some time. Just was curious as to why it is the way it is.

I forget which sportswriter said it, but they pointed out that the worst thing about this is that there's nothing wrong with having a cocktail party. Seriously, there's nothing wrong with it. It's not like it's named rape party or let's go kill a hobo party.

LOL.....I guess when uga and UF fans/students continue to die from binge drinking after the name has been changed to "The Singular Wireless Network Party," they'll feel pretty foolish.

Maybe they'll even ban cell phones because of it.

If these guys don't feel foolish by now, they never will.
