Here is an article expressing the opinion of three Foxsports football experts (http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/5261254). I like the last writer's thoughts.

I think the jokes on the writers...wishful thinking, especially on the part of UF fans...but I don't see us as a top 3 team this year...I think we'll do good...maybe even a chance at the SEC...but our schedule is brutal...our schedules are always tough...playin' in the SEC with f$u as a OOC...but I can't remember a UF schedule this tough....8-9 bowl teams from last year...gees!

Well if all plays out like they say, the SEC should have a rep in the NC this year seeing how two of our teams were in the experts top 3. But I don't see it happening because there is way too many good teams in the SEC for these teams to go the nessecary undefeated to get there.

Let me pose a hypothetical question: Suppose Florida went undefeated even with the schedule they have this year. Would this be the greatest regular season performance(consistent all year long) ever??? i cant, off the top of my head, remember a team having such a brutal schedule much less go undefeated. what you guys think????

What's your point? It's May...just over 3 months before the season starts...what's "insulting" about that? Besides, that's pretty much the point of this thread...you know, predicting outcomes...

It would definately be near or at the top, blues. I think this team has the talent and coaching to win every game...but for any SEC team to go undefeated, it takes near miraculous fortune, i.e., no injuries, get all the right calls, and tons of luck. Not to mention our schedule will be the toughest in the SEC...near the top in the country....Also, UF is still very thin, depth-wise, at several positions...so, I believe we'll have to wait another year or two before hoping for your hypothetical outcome...but we can always hope!

What is insulting is that just because you have a tough schedule and you feel it is the toughest schedule any school has faced "ever" does not mean we are going to be so Pollyanna. I would bet my life it is not even in the top ten hardest schedules "ever" and probably not even close to that. C'mon Hunter, how can you say y'all are facing the toughest schedule any school has "ever" faced? Do some research and then show it to us. They have been playing college football for over 100 years. To say something like that is as I said insulting to our intelligence. We know better. You can take this personally if you like and I'm sure you will but, it is not meant that way.

Did I say it was the toughest schedule "ever"?
No...not taking it personal...it was a "hypothetical" question...you really cannot determine how tough a schedule is/was until after the season...my point was, given how tough the schedule appears on paper to be, if UF were to go undefeated...it would be quite a feat...that's what blues intention was...I'm pretty sure. I'm sure throughout history, teams have played tougher schedules...but how many have went undefeated? That was the whole point...besides, I am by no means predicting that, we're facing 9 probable top 25 teams, all of which played in bowl games last year...10-2 is my prediction.

Hunter, here is his exact quote;"Would this be the greatest regular season performance(consistent all year long) ever??? i cant, off the top of my head, remember a team having such a brutal schedule much less go undefeated."
That is very Polyanna thinking and this is what I was responding to. You joined into the argument with him which means you agreed with him. You knew what I was talking about. Either you agree with him or you don't. You indicated that you did with your response.

dude, calm down. it was a HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION. i am not predicting they will go undefeated, not saying it is the toughest schedule ever. i was simply asking, should florida go undefeated with this schedule would it be the greatest regular season ever?
i know other teams have had tougher schedules but have they gone undefeated? once again, not saying florida will, that is why it is a hypothetical question. replace florida with uga and keep that same schedule, would it be the greatest regular season ever should uga escape that undefeated?

Dude calm down, don't flip out like you are. I only put in the part relative to what Hunter was discussing which was the word ever. He said you never used the word ever. That was only the only part that mattered, I was only pointing out the word ever so he could see it for himself.

You said I used the word "ever" and I said I didn't...I never said blues didn't...
The point is "moot"...it's hypothetical...read what blues said again...just in case you're having trouble...he said "suppose".....I agreed...if any team with UF's upcoming schedule...were to go undefeated...it would be amazing...that's all...we're not predicting MNCs or anything else....

Lets think back to last year when a certain SEC team was ranked as one of the national title contenders after returning a lot of starters, one of the nation's best recruiting classes and also had the toughest SEC schedule of the year and possibly nationally. Remember when they went 5-6, no bowl game, lost to vandy for the first time in over a decade, and quite possibly one of the worst chokes for a nationally ranked team at the beginning of the season ever.
Do I see this happening again? No, not the the magnitude that it did for UT. UF has a cupcake team or a week off in between every tough game they will play. So, Florida therefore could quite possibly have a remarkable season. Undefeated, I doubt it, 11-1 very possible, and without a doubt at least 8-4.
To answer your hypothetical question, yes I believe it would be one of the greatest undefeated seasons for a Div. I team.

Let's see...we play Bama...then 1 week later we play LSU....then 1 week later we play Auburn...that's the three toughest SEC West teams in three weeks...however, I do agree with the rest of your post...I predict a 10-2 regular season...we're still pretty thin depth-wise in some areas so I think a 12-0 reg season is a stretch...and with some key injuries, 9-3/8-4 could be possible as well.

Why did you have to go and bring up last year man? I've tried all off-season to get over the fiasco of last year, started to feel good about the upcoming season, and you bring up last year.j/k
As for UF, it will be a daunting task to go undefeated with that schedule. It's certainly not the toughest schedule of all time or whatever, but it's a good one, with a couple of real testers on the road. I feel like 10-2 would be a very good year, but 9-3 and 8-4 are certainly possible too. Heck of alot better than 5-6 though, ain't it.

You're right about LSU and Auburn being the TWO toughest SEC West teams; however, Alabama is probably not the 3rd toughest. That honor next year probably belongs to Arkansas.

I thought about that one, Geaux...but I think I'll wait and see....you remember, plenty of times in past years, Arkansas has been hyped in the pre-season only to lay an egg when the season starts, and I'm not sold on a HS head coach calling plays in the SEC...may be a large price to pay for a couple of recruits...Bama on the other hand usually wins the games they are suppose to.

You're probably right, but for some reason, I think Bama is pretty empty this year. And I've always liked Houston Nutt. Sometimes, he amazes with what he can do with not too much talent. This year, he's got some hosses, so I sort of think they're going to be the surprise team in the West.
