S.C. linebacker commits to Bulldogs

Charles White goes to school about 15 miles from the South Carolina campus, and his high school coach is the son of a Clemson assistant.
So where is White planning to play college football? Georgia.
The Blythewood (S.C.) High School linebacker committed to the Bulldogs on Monday night, a little more than a week after impressing coaches at a combine in Athens that prompted assistant Jon Fabris to call with a scholarship offer.
White also had offers from Maryland, Vanderbilt and Middle Tennessee State.
"Georgia was really the first school that got to see him work out this year because that was the first camp he went to," said Jeff Scott, whose father is Clemson assistant Brad Scott. "After he got that (offer), Clemson and Carolina showed a lot more interest. They were calling me and said they still wanted him to come to their one-day camp so they could work him out themselves. They were kind of hoping that he would wait to do that."
The 6-foot, 210-pound White had 96 tackles, seven tackles for loss, five sacks and two interceptions playing for Ridgeview as a junior. Blythewood's first varsity season is this year.
"He's got great speed - he's a true 4.5 flat kid," Scott said. "He's very physical, loves contact and has great coverage skills."
White plans to graduate in time to enroll at Georgia in January.
