Which SEC team would you definitely not want to open up the SEC season with, and WHY?

I say the Vols, cause I believe they're gonna be EXTREMELY hungry for a win after last season, more so than anyone, if u ask me.

I picked Florida... it would be difficult to play them so early.

However, same could be said for Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, or Georgia.

I picked you guys Geaux but, it could just have easily been the gators or Auburn or like you said just about any of the top teams in the SEC. I'm still pissed that we have to play SC in the second game of the year but, that does makes SC the most important game of the year for us this year.

Why did you have to go and make such a hard poll? lol Wow, that was a difficult choice but I agree, it could have been anyone. I chose Florida since that is our first SEC game but again, easily anyone amongst FL, GA, AL, Aub, or LSU.

they all suck to open with. If I had to pick...I would say MSU or maybe Ol'Miss...

I agree, that's why I picked Allbarn.

Yea playing Auburn at the start of the year would not be fun because what makes it a good rivalry is that both teams have developed and come up with good game plans by the time they play each other. All teams get better as the year progresses. The rivalry is awesome when you got two teams that hate each other playing the best they will in a given season.

I picked Arkansas. I would hate to play my own team on opening week, who would i go for? :/ Plus, I already saw the red and white game.

All joking aside I misread the poll. I would hate to open the season with Auburn.

This year...I would actually rather play LSU or Auburn...they'll likely be our two toughest opponents...if we lose, we have a chance to climb back up the polls by season's end...

Many of the "top" SEC teams don't play well at the beginning of the season. SC plays their best at the beginning.

Gotta go with Auburn right now with less-U a close second....

...but I'd have picked uga if they were solid at QB.

Had to go with LSU, I enjoy the battle for the boot.

I went with LSU because the last few years they have won some tough openers. I really wouldn't like to open with any SEC team right off the bat. I like to see us against a Utah State or Mid Tenn just to see what we are made of before SEC play starts but if I'm not mistaken we have to open with Vandy this year. I'll go look at the schedule again.

I agree with AF. LSU would be tough, but Auburn and Florida wouldn't be a great way to start the season either. I don't think bama is going to be that tough this year, but I could be wrong. Tennessee definately has the talent and is probably pretty pissed about last year so they deserve a vote too. Damn what am I saying we have to play who in the first game of the season? Who's brillant idea was that?

Deltor, did you post this poll because we play MSU to open the season? While I feel confident in the win, I don't like openig the season with a SEC foe, regardless of the team (tough enough playing UGA in the SECOND game!). In 2004, we had to go to Vandy to open the season. However, I did like the outcome of that game :)

I am not expecting a win at MSU. I don't want to give myself any possibility of any sort of disappointment. I will just be "surprised" if we win. Ignorance is the key to a lot of things in life; an ignorant person is constantly surprised!

Dude, there is no way that Mississippi State will beat South Carolina, whether it's the 1st game, middle of the season, or last game. Croom against Spurs?? The lackluster talent at State against the blooming talent at South Carolina?? Not really like starting with an SEC team. You'll beat their sox off.

I hope so Geaux. If we are "sure" to beat them, the margin of victory will be an excellent indicator for the rest of the season.
