Tyrus Thomas is expected to announce as early as Monday of next week that he is going pro. Thomas will be a top-six pick in the NBA draft and the money will be too much for him to turn down.

That's too bad, although I can't blame the guy. When they throw that kind of money at you, it makes the decision pretty easy. That kid has a ton of talent, but I think he could have used a couple of more years of experience. I guess that's just how it goes these days.

Yep, a year or two more would make a world of difference in his talent development. But he'll get a guaranteed three year pact with mega bucks. That's hard for a kid with his economic background to resist. (Shucks, I guess it would be hard for any of us to resist!)

I think he has the talent to make it big in the NBA. That is the goal of any player and you have to take it while your name is hot. I don't blame him a bit,Good Luck.

Yeah that really is too bad. Just one more year would have helped him out alot. Both Thomas and Davis will announce today. What is this about Davis? I thought he already said he was coming back, why the press conference now? I have a bad feeling about this.

IF both were to go pro, what does this mean for Brady? A co-worker sent me this link, pay attention to the last line of the article. "Is Brady an upgrade over Sendek? Ask ACC coaches. First, though, make them stop laughing."

At the press conference today, Tyrus announced that he was going, Big Baby announced that he was staying. (Thank goodness!)

Glad that Davis is hanging around. Really wish that Thomas would have stayed at least one more year but the $$ is talking so I understand that as well. Maybe Brady should have called Brandon Bass back in to talk to him.

They both made the choices that they felt would be best for them and I wish Thomas nothing but the best at the next level. Here's hoping that Davis will help lead the Tigers back to the final 4!!

If Davis stays for all 4 years, I can only imagine how good his game will be entering the draft at that point... not as if he isn't good already. But I think he'll be one of the best (and biggest) "powerhouse" players in the game with a couple more years of development.
As for Thomas, hurts to see a kid with that much talent leave your school.... but I have no doubt he'll make LSU fans proud in the pros. With the money involved nowadays, it would be hard not to take the money if you're looking like a pretty quick draft pick. As long as you're smart with the money those first few years (unlike many athletes), you'll be able to set yourself and your family up for a lot of years even if things don't work out quite like you expected in the pros.
