Saturday night, prior to the game, the commentators showed footage of Coach Pearl "coaching up" GMU on how to defeat the Gators. The commentators stated that because UT had beaten the Gators twice, GMU coach approached Coach Pearl and he agreed to give them some inside info on how to beat the Gators!!! Can you believe this!? Another SEC coach giving advice on how to beat a fellow SEC school...pathetic! Glad it didn't work!

Same thing happened to UF in the 1995 MNC game...LSU's defensive coor. went to Lincoln and gave the Cornhuskers a two week "clinic" on how to stop the "Fun-n-Gun"...it obviously worked very well....Nebraska crushed us.

How some of these SEC school ADs can allow a coach to give "pointers" on how to beat fellow SEC schools is beyond me...talk about betrayal...Coach Pearl is a traiter. JMO.

Wow....what a rant. Hmm, my wife says it is against her religion to cheer for the Gators...apparently you both go to the same church. I have to agree with Fox but I must say I got a huge laugh out of the tirade. BTW, for the record, I was hoping Florida would win simply because they were SEC but otherwise, I hoped UCLA would kick the snot out of the Gators. I could be wrong, but what I saw before the Final Four games was Pearl(who beat UF twice) and Hofstras' coach(who beat George Mason Twice) show where the respective teams were vulnerable, but like I said I may have missed whatever they're talking about. Anyway, I agree that Bruce Pearl owes nothing to the Gators or anyone else, except UT. I thinks it's pretty cool we finally have a mens' BB coach who other teams and the media even care about what he thinks on the subject of BB. But you lose me on all that other crap. For one I wasn't necessarily rooting for the Gators or Tigers, but for the SEC. I would much rather our conference win the championship than one of those girly west coast teams, or prima donna ACC teams. While I don't care who roots for UT, there is one SEC team that I can't bring myself to root for, Bama. Too much bad blood there. I can still remember as a kid, UT playing at Bama and UT QB Tony Robinson going down with a season ending knee injury and a loud cheer ringing throughout the stadium while he was still on the turf. I'm know they hate UT too and maybe that's the way it should be for your fiercest rivals. But as for the other teams in the SEC, unless it hurts UT in some way in the standings, I can cheer for them.

The money is divided among the other SEC schools and the it will only help recruiting for the SEC. Kids want to play in the top basketball conference, if it is the ACC, Big EAst or the SEC. True, but I don't hear many people talking about Hofstra beating Mason twice.

I'm proud of the fact that our losses were quality losses: usc, NIT champs, and #2-seed UT, even though I thought that was a bit high, imo.

Going undefeated through the entire season is a VERY difficult task. It's the tourney that counts.

I can agree with this....UF beat UGA in 2002, gave them their only loss, beat LSU in 2003, gave the MNC their only loss...not to mention wins over Miami in the early and mid-80's giving them their only losses during MNC years...it helps, but believe me, people remember champions...not wins vs champions.

I agree...you won the battle...but UF won the war...football...better record and win in better bowl and #1 recruiting class.....basketball...beat you for the SEC title, kept you out of the tourney and went on the win the National Championship...baseball...I'll admit, UF has been horrible as of late, but we did win the SEC last season and played for a NC....true, your "recent" wins vs UF are a matter of record...as is the previous 65 years of UF domination over USCocks.... :biggrin:
