How fitting it is that Dave Odom's 100th win at USC is his second straight NIT crown. He is now a sparkling 21-7 in the post-season at USC.

Just wait until we get into the NCAA's. It will be more of the same. Just look back at all the narrow losses we've had this season and what could have been. This is one of my favorite Carolina teams and we should all be very proud of their calm demeanor in sweeping through the NIT, especially the dominating performances they exhibited in their last two games. We knocked out quite a few #1 seeds in our post-season run!

USC is a good team(Though Modica owned them.), but you're in the NIT... No offense. One and done is humiliating, but NIT is in a way as well.

At one point during the game tonight, Ron Franklin said "all I know is that if I lived in Columbia I'd be buying season tickets for this team next year. these guys are fun to watch!" I couldn't agree more with him. This team was incredibly inconsistent much of the year but there were always a few highlight-reel plays in every game.

We're going to need Day to step up next year and replace Kinsey. If he can do that and Balkman can become more consistent, I think we should probably make the dance next year. We'll need those two things to happen though.

whatever man....there's no way you would be saying winning the NIT championship is humiliating if the Hogs had been left out of the tourney and won it this year. obviously everyone would prefer to make it to the NCAA, but i'm quite proud of the Gamecocks.

Day needs to learn how to pass the ball. he is a very good shooter but he likes to dribble a little to much. we will be good next year but Kinsey is going to be a big loss to us.

If they'd played that way all year, they would have made it to the Sweet Sixteen.

Kinsey is going to be a big loss to us.

As was Carlos Powell.

But if we can jell early and Balkman continues his rampage, it should be worth 5 to 8 extra wins during the regular season. Then, Odom will show his true worth as a great coach. And we'll all be kissing his feet.

Your right but like you said we have to Jell early. it took a 14-14 record for us to Jell this year. hopefully it wont take that long next year.

Okay, it's been forever since I've posted anything, but I couldn't let such a dominating NIT performance go by without a post. I'm so looking forward to next year (I think).

My question is does anyone know much about our incoming class? I think we'll have a great starting lineup and all, but any depth we have is going to have to come from that class. I think Odom summed up good when he said that a shallow bench might be good for the short term, but not the long term. We'd have nothing left by the end of the year if we played 7 guys for 4+ months.
