This question was posted on one of the Florida boards....who would we rather play, LSU or UCLA...first, let me say, both teams have games to win on Saturday or the point is moot..and I doubt either team is worried about it...that said, who would you guys, as fans, rather see your team play?
Do you want to play UF, a team that has beaten you twice already this year, or GM, a "Cinderella" team that basically the entire nation is pulling for. Forget about an "all SEC final"...yea, that sounds great, and is good for the conference, but you have to draw the line...which team offers the better match up to win a National Championship...to me, that takes presidence over an all SEC NC game. To tell the truth, I am torn....UCLA has trouble scoring at times and I think UF's big men would give them fits....however, we've beaten LSU twice this year, although, statistically speaking, it's very hard to beat a team 3 times...and LSU, like UF, is very hot right now. What do you guys think? The Florida board was torn as well.

IMO, I think we're peaking at the right time. I'd rather have less-U in the final. We've beaten them by double digits each time we played during the season, and BillyD and the boys are comfortable with the gameplan and the matchups. This team is composed, but they're still young. I have to think nerves would be a factor in the championship, and playing a team they know may help settle them down a bit. I don't know.
I'll take familiarity, previous success, and confidence over playing an unknown entity like UCLA in the final.

Tough question, for sure. I think LSU matches up with both UCLA and GM better than they do with Florida. There is some reason that the Gators beat us twice.

LSU is playing better now than they have anytime this season that I've witnessed. That being said, so is Florida.
Point being, it might give Florida an extra-bit of confidence against LSU, but once that game started it wouldn't matter one bit that UF won their first two matchups.
I think LSU is definitely better than UCLA and of course Florida is better than George Mason....so if you're thinking strictly about winning the title, each team should be rooting for the non-SEC team to be their opponent.

Exactly the point of the post, do you think "conference first" and hope for an all SEC final...or think "team first" and hope for the better match-up...

if i were a florida or LSU fan i wouldnt want to face each other again. so i would be pulling for the Non SEC team. BUT since im not a LSU or Florida fan, im pulling for an all SEC championship game. hopefully Florida will win so that i can say my gamecocks beat the national champions twice in the same season!
