This can't be right... I just heard a statement that Cuba has been to the finals in 37 consecutive world competitions. What is going on. This can't be right. :brick:

I don't know if it is exactly 37 but I know that they are very strong in baseball. That commy ***** has deprived us of seeing some big time talent in MLB for quite some time now. It is no coincidence that whenever a Cuban player defects, they are usually an instant star over here. Remember when Livan Hernandez burst on the scene? It will be really interesting to see what happens down there when Castro kicks the bucket!

most of these competitions are facing amatuer players and teams. there is a couple of olympics in there, but most arent against the best in the world. that said, they have proved they can compete and beat the best.
i have really enjoyed the wbc, even the games that arent involving the u.s. that dominican-cuba game yesterday was really good. you can see how much pride the latin clubs take in their baseball programs.

I have been impressed with the enthusiasm of the fans for all the teams, especially the latin teams. It's been a lot more exciting than i thought it would be.
