When was the last time the Gamecocks won an NCAA Tournament Basketball Game? I know they have recently lost in the first round the last few times they made it but I cannot remember the last time they won an NCAA Basketball Game :confused: I have made a bet with a guy here @ work. I am betting they've not won one since the 1970's at least. Am I right?

hell no, you've lost that bet, some Cocks will know the dates but SC had a helluva team around 10-12 years ago and went to the 2nd or 3rd round when they shouldve went further but they were upset

Nope, he's right. You have to go back to 1973. Here are our last NCAA appearances....

2004: Lost in first round to Memphis (59-43)

1998: Lost in first round to Richmond (62-61)

1997: Upset by Coppin State in first round (78-65) - we were a #3 seed if I remember correctly

1989: Lost to N.C State in first round (81-66)

1974: Lost to Furman in first round (75-67)

1973: Beat Texas Tech 78-70 in the first round.....

In eight tournaments, we've won 4 and lost 9 games.

And uga_alum_93....You owe me one, for this was one painful thing to research (especially after this season).

yup I was wrong, I was confusing going to the tourney w/winning games in the tourney
