DandyDon is reporting that rumors are circulating that Broussard has quit the football team and will transfer from LSU. The rumors have been circulating for several days now and I did not pay very much attention to them until last night when I received a phone call from someone who is usually in the know saying that Broussard had quit the team. I still do not believe that the rumors are true unless Broussard has received bad news concerning his knee and plans to give up the game of football. Alley Broussard was very happy at LSU before damaging his knee and I cannot see Broussard transferring to a new school and having to sit out another season. I sure hope that Alley Broussard has not quit the team, but if he has LSU will still be in decent shape at the running back position with Jacob Hester, Antonio Robinson, R.J. Jackson and three very highly recruited freshmen running backs from the last signing class, and if Justin Vincent recovers 100 percent from his knee surgery we can throw his name into the mix.

Was he not the likely #1 RB for next year? I don't see the reasoning for this unless it is injury related but if not...the kid is an idiot.

I know that LSU is always talented at the RB position....but....losing a guy like Broussard (again) will definitely affect the team. I think his loss this last year was the difference maker....between where they finished and a National Championship. LSU will still be good, but Broussard was the icing on the cake.

Heard today that this rumor was false. Have you heard anything Geux? The only news I did hear is that he is a little irritated at the fact that his rehab isn't going as fast as he wanted it to.

It appears that the rumor was false. Alley Broussard has not quit the LSU football team, according to an article written by Glen Guilbeau in the Shreveport Times. The article quotes LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette as saying that Broussard is frustrated that his knee is still giving him trouble.
