Well it looks like I was correct in my hopes of seeing Tyler Threadgill make an impact this season. He has the speed and skills , but will he make an impact on the depth chart that will get him the playing time?

This quote came from the MSU athletic website "Croom specifically called out rising junior Tyler Threadgill (Philadelphia, Miss.), sophomore-to-be Keon Humphries (Montgomery, Ala.) and rising sophomore Aubrey Bell (Mobile, Ala.) as having made progress in the wide receiver rotation."

This quote came from MSU blog writer Ian Rapoport
"Here's some more stuff that stood out: Croom immediately mentioned the improved wide receivers, and that was clear. He said, "Just having Omarr Conner and Tony Burks out there today made a difference. Those two will make us better." While Croom said the quarterbacks didn't have great days, some other receivers did. Little-used speedster Tyler Threadgill seemed to catch everything. So did Aubrey Bell."

I'd like to see Tyler Threadgill get a chance to get some(more) playing time. Coming out of high school he had a great set of wheels(4.38 40 time). He got on the playing field with special teams as a returner but never really got to get much action on the offense. For someone who had that kind of speed and a great bloodline(Bruce Threadgill - father- was a really good QB in the mid 70s) He is a little shorter than I think Croom wants at a wide receiver position but I think he would be great as a slotguy to throw the short ball to and let him get a chance to make a few moves. Timing routes and quick slants would seem to suit him well and should be complimentary to Croom's attempt at a West coast style of offense that he has NOT fully developed yet due to a lack of receivers. He has been behind Will Prosser on the depth chart but despite Will's injuries Tyler did not get a chance last year. He has speed equal to or better than Tee Milons and much better hands. I feel the kid deserves a chance to get into the mix quite a bit more.

I'd be a happy camper to see this guy get a chance to get into the rotation and make an impact next year because Coach Croom looked over him last year and did not even get him on the field. I'm happy to see him working hard in spring training. The receivers position is certainly in the spotlight and maybe that gives him a better chance of being noticed by the coaches. He doesn't have the height of some other receivers that CC would like to get on the field but his speed can really make up for that.

I remember his Dad playing QB for us when I was growing up , he was a good one.

I would also like to see Tyler on the field a lot this year , he has lots of potential.
