I've been away for a little while, and not posting heavily on this site. I'm bak now and I see that apparently a filter was added to stop curse word from being posted. This filter caused and uproar and those upset started send PMs to revolt against the site. At this loyal members sent the revolters to the administrator and they were banned.

Do I have this right? or is there more to it?

Because frankly this is soap opera material and I'll probably never be able to keep my wife off this board. :D All this for a FILTER?

Also, who are some of the major players who aren't around anymore? Is Supergenious finally gone?

LOL well Vol Ive been gone for quite sometime myself working on school stuff etc and I musta missed the whole dramatic filter dilemma lmao..but I have noticed some of the bigger poster not being around as much so who knows?

It was more than the filter but that's all in the past now.

There is alot more to it than you can see on the surface, but it's behind us and I am fairly confident that history will not repeat itself.

As for the filter, it was suggested in a thread a while back and with a couple PMs I received, I decided to turn it on. I have NEVER used this built in filter on any of my site's forums, but there were some that thought it would help the problem that was being compained about at that time, over moderation. If the rules are followed, there is no need for over moderation. When I realized that the filter was upsetting folks, I came on and turned it off. Apparently, before I was aware of the problem, some of the members had organized a campaign to take the membership over to the other site with them.

Since this, we had a slower period, but with the current conditions of the site and the new atmosphere, the site has done real well lately.
