Big East Tournament

I just now heard on ESPN the announcer say that he did not think Louisville would make the Big East Tournament. Are the bottom teams blocked from the tournament and if so, where do they draw the line?

IIRC, the top 12 go onto the Big East Tournamment. There, the top four get first round byes. Louisville lost to West Virginia yesterday, 68-64, and is in danger of sinking into the bottom four of the league. That would be a huge slap in the face to a program who made the Final Four last year.
