New Orleans casino set to reopen
Harrah's says its New Orleans casino will reopen Friday, another boost for the Crescent City's tourism economy. The noon opening of the casino precedes the first Mardi Gras parade of the season. Mardi Gras is Tuesday, Feb. 28. Approximately 1,300 employees, many of whom were with Harrahs before the storm, have been assembled to staff the casino. In addition, work continues on a 450-room, 26-story hotel, located just across Poydras Street from the casino. The $150 million project is expected to open in September.

Yeah, I think it is open as well as the Sheraton right across Canal Street.

They did lose most of their animals. Here is the latest info:

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is still closed but hopes to reopen this summer. All systems are sanitized and many are functioning. The Gulf and Caribbean systems are running and now have the initial fish components. The husbandry staff is also caring for the creatures residing at the Aquarium and laying the groundwork for a new aquatic animal collection.
