Turmoil is the best way to describe the state of Vanderbilt's and Kentucky's basketball programs in February of 1989. Kentucky was about to be placed on probation stemming from a host of infractions. Among the harshest of these violations included ACT tests being taken for players to meet eligibility requirements. The most newsworthy of the alleged violations occurred almost a year earlier.
