I read where Joe Montana wanted $100,000 appearance fee to be
introduced as one of the former Super Bowl MVP's. Since then he
apparently has said that he didn't really want to go since he'd
promised his kids he be in town for their basketball games.
I wish he'd have passed for that reason to begin with. I mean, what
he'd wouldn't break his promise unless somebody gave him 100 grand?
Reminds me of an old joke about a guy propositioning a girl. First he
offers her $1000, she is insulted and refused. He then offers her 1
million, she hesitates, but doesn't say yes or no... He then says, how
about $1500? She again, insulted says What do you think I am a hooker?
He says, well we've established that, now were just hagglin' on the price.

WDE!

Altho in my opinion he is the greatest quarterback of all time, I do think with him using the family excuse he is just tryin to save his rep. You know the man has more money now than he will ever spend but apparently thats not enough for him.

Montana's attitude leaves a lot to be disired but let us not forget Bradshaw in this deal. He stated that he wanted to spend time with his family but he was on Jay Leno last night. He was reported to as wanting more $ just like Montana. RTR

True, but where do Bradshaw's kids live? If his ex is a left coaster, it may have been a valid reason.

Speaking as someone whose son has played high school basketball against Joe Montana's son, with Joe in the stands, I can say the following: Joe's serious enough about his son's basketball that I completely believe him when he says he skipped the Super Bowl MVP festivities to watch his son play a game.

Well someone doesn't believe he's terrible.
