Projected starters 2006

Ok, here is the first look at 2006. These are the projected starters.

OFFENSE:

QB: Blake Mitchell
TB: Cory Boyd
FB: Clark Gaston
TE: Andy Boyd (Health?)
WR: Sidney Rice, Kenny McKinley *OJ Murdock, Freddie Brown impact players
OL: Clarence Bailey (LT), James Thompson (LG), Chris White (C), Thomas Coleman (G), Jamon Meredith (RT)

DEFENSE:

DE: Jordin Lindsey, Dakota Walker (OH yeah!!)
DT: Stanley Doughty, Marque Hall
LB: Jasper Brinkley (MLB), Ryan Brown (SLB), Mike West (WLB)
Secondary: Chris Hampton (S), Brandon Isaac (S), Fred Bennett CB), Carlos Thomas (CB)

So there ya go. First look 2006. Several other players should receive playing time, however it does not seem Chris Smelley will get much if any time this year. Will depend on the summer, but remember he does not come in during the spring. He will not practice till summer. Will be almost impossible to move up the chain, unless he is really all that. So far the QB pecking order is Blake, Cade, Tommy, Chris. See what ya think!!!! :)

I don't know GT, I think that Smelley will get in the mix sooner than the other two QB's that we got last year. In fact, I forsee one of them transferring to another school due to lack of playing time or coming to the realization that the opportunity isn't going to come being here. I hope that they all get a chance to play, but someone is going to get left out.

Honestly, if BM doesn't get a handle on things and learn how to find someone other than SR to toss the rock to, he won't be under center for too long. After a year in the system, SOS shouldn't be doing the audibles from the sideline on every play :rolleyes:

It's gonna be an awesome year, and I'm pumped already ;) I really want to see what Cook can do out of the backfield. Maybe we can be like Memphis and have two 1,000 yard rushers in the same backfield.
