I'm just messing. Hey look at it this way, you got more recruits this weekend than we did!

the thing is Captain is a 2 star prospect and they havnt even seen film on him yet. he could possibly move up to three stars when the new player rankings come out. along with Garret Anderson who will move up to a 4 star OL

as long as they're really fast or have a really big frame, i'm ok with the 2-star signings. we've always had 2-star signees but often they've just been space-fillers that we hoped would work out. these 2 stars have a place in the program.

Say what you wish, if you knew as much about our team as you do about your own, you'd know that this class was specifically to fill needs and skill positions and high profile guys aren't what we need this year. We need BIGGER along both lines and look what we've got or what's coming in. We need a QB who can LEAD and look what we got. We're in the running for what many call the best RB still available and AJ Jones reportedly could committ to us on Wednesday, despite what UF fans think.
Don't forget we have SOS doing the recruiting...these kids wouldn't have been targeted if they couldn't get the job done and given our track record with 2-star recruits (see: KO SIMPSON, SIDNEY RICE), I for one am very satisfied with what we have coming in and we haven't stopped getting verbals yet.
Mock all you want, it's not going to faze too many in the Gamecock family....we're filling the gaps that have kept us from reaching the next level the past 10 years.

I'm not saying the star system is meaningless because I actually like the star rankings. It's just I usually look at what other schools have offered as a good indicator of a guy's talent. All most all the kids commited to us have far more impressive offers than USC but chose us any way. I'm excited about the future of the program. It's like I said in the USC recruiting thread, I remember the days when we were competing for talent with Wofford and the Citadel. It's nice to be able to beat out some of the bigger names for these guys.

Don't forget, we got a good QB out of bammer's back yard while they search on for Brodie's replacement. They better hope they get that 3-star McElroy kid who's currently committed to TTU or it'll be strike four on QB targets for 'Bama this year after missing out on Tebow, Mustain & Smelley. ;)

Yeah Demeco Ryans was a 2 star athlete and look at him now. Possible top 10 prospect in the NFL Draft. I was just having a little fun mocking your recruits because according to some people on here it seems like EVERY recruit in the nation would want to play for SOS. I apologize, I don't mean anything serious, I just thought it was a little humoring that your average star is 2.9 as of this weekend.

McElroy and Mustain are not a done deal anywhere. Notre Dame is officially out of the picture for Mustain. So that leaves Arky, Bama, and Tennessee. Tennessee is going full throttle for Jimmy Clausen next year so I don't think they care too much about a QB this year. Mustain contacted Bama after he decommited so I think that is a decent sign at interest level. Who knows about McElroy, personally if I had to choose, I would rather sign him. Regarding Smelley, you can have him. Shula knew who he was because of camping at Bama and obviously he wasn't impressed at all. You might find yourselves pulling your hair with Smelley because of the possibility of him playing baseball. I will gladly eat crow if he turns out to be the next...ah I don't know, I can't think of any good South Carolina QBs.

Steve Tanneyhill...if he turns out to be the next Steve Tanneyhill.

IH8Orange, that is probably because SC never has really had any good QBs. Some may have been above average but never anything to write home about.

No sense in recruiting all 4 and 5 star recruits. They will only play 2 or 3 years anyway before going pro.

The latest I heard through the grapevine is that Stewart will be moved to (potentially) a 4-star. His ability to qualify was supposedly holding his ranking back.

Anderson will be a four star and Paulk with his strong season and shrine bowl performance should be considered also.

Last time i checked Anthony Wright was still starting in the NFL. He's no Peyton Manning, but you have to have a little talent to start in the NFL.

It takes a "little talent" to make it to the NFL but not a whole lot to beat out Kyle Boller for a starting job :D

btw Gamecock dudes, Kendrick Lewis skipped his SC visit for the second time. What's your thoughts on him?
Oh and Taneyhill was all business in the front and all party in the back. Hop on board the mullet train, whoo whoo.

He's probably our 4 or 5th guy on the wr board. While it would be nice to get him it's not the end of the world for us.

WR is a position that has plenty of quality players every year. If we don't get Lewis I think we will survive. We will just get some other player. Besides Moe Brown is being called the next Sydney Rice.

Anthony Wright did start for the Ravens. Then Kyle Boller got healthy and reclaimed the job.
