Any thoughts on the upcoming start of conference play? UA plays the Dogs at Starkville, a very tough place to play. The Bulldogs are in a rebuilding mode like we have been for the past two seasons but they are always tough at home. Even the Razorbacks '94 National Championship team that only had 2 regular season losses lost at Starkville. I think this will be a good test for the Hogs. This is supposed to be Stan Heath's breakout year and thus far the signs point towards a NCAA Tourney birth but the Hogs must play well in hostile environments....that has not been a staple of the Heath era at Arkansas. Arkansas is the more talented team and will be in the majority of games this year but they have to be able to translate that into victories even when everything isn't going there way. This first week is incredibly important for the Hogs because victories over MSU and LSU to start the season will put them well on their way to winning the west.

One of my favorite games of all time was a UA/MSU game at Bud Walton. Brandon Dean used his superhuman hops to block a shot to lead to a Razorback basket. Dean is like 5'11" but can jump over the rim....I've never seen anyone jump like this:

I think both Ole Miss and Miss. St will be weak this year but LSU will be hell.....I'd like to think KY will be beatable this year but will still win 12 games in the conference, TN and Fla are still mysteries to me, both look unbelievably good but TNs not used to being high profile and Fla always seems to begin falling apart at the end and Alabama is missing a critical piece to the puzzle and I don't see them winning more than 10 games in the conference this year

We have 4 or 5 really good guards. We only won 8 games in total last season, he have really improved. Watch us play tomm and find out yourself.

Very good post Buz. I agree 100 percent with everything you said. This is a very important game/week for the Hogs.

When did Mississippi State change their name from the Mississippi State Bulldogs to the Mississippi State Hogs? :D
jk....Sounds like it was a heckuva game (69-67). It's always tough to win in the SEC on the road. And did anyone see the Kentucky score....they got hammered by Kansas, 73-46. My Gamecocks play their first SEC game tomorrow against Tennessee. No predictions, since Tennessee has been playing some pretty good hoops so far, and I haven't been too impressed with my Gamecocks. At least we're at home, and that should give us a chance.

We can't play in the SEC on the road, I don't know why that is? This team is young, but talented...

This team isn't young. We have no shooters and lack defensive intensity. Until that is corrected we won't win on the road in the SEC. Stan Heath better correct it as quickly as he can....his job depends on it....and I don't think he can.
