Yep...more room for Baker, Harvin, McDaniel, D. Williams, J. Willams, Fayson, Hornsby, Boateng, Nelson, etc....

hey GatorNation..........whats the general feel amongst Gator fans for Markus Manson?

Good luck to CJ...he has been a great Gator...I am not surprised he is entering the draft, this is a particularly thin year for WR in the draft so it's a very good career move.
We Gators love Manson...he hits the hole fast and is a homerun threat...can't wait to see him next year.

This is not a slam on Jackson but I all the stuff that I have just read indicates that he may be making a mistake. Who knows thou? Good Luck to him. RTR
I hope more UF players leave, and the Coach too............., btw, that's a compliment GN...

Manson.....very fast, hits the hole hard, needs better hands, crisper route running, and has to get a little stronger, especially at the point of attack when engaging tacklers and picking up the blitz.
Huge upside with the right attitude. He could be a great one for us.

Yeah, I think he should have stuck around one more year. He tied UF's all-time receptions in a season--Alvarez in '69 (?) with 88 catches--in what was largely a problematic year on offense for the first 2/3 of the season. Year two is Meyer's offensive year, but it may be a $$$ issue.
In a way I'm glad, though, because now we have more room for developing our other WRs, and this way we can get them on the field faster. I see our starting 5 WRs as: Caldwell, Baker, Boateng, Harvin, and probably Fayson, McDaniel, or Cornelius. Hornsby seems to be projecting as a safety, but nothing is definite right now. I think Nelson, Damian Williams, and Justin Williams will also fight for those fourth and fifth spots, but they'll all see the field during game day.

Yea...Jackson could have probably used another year...he had trouble this year getting open...however, when Kiper predicts you as the 4th WR taken...you gotta go.

Considering the state of this year's WR crop, thta could mean mid 2nd-early 3rd round. RTR

I agree...another consideration is the fact that the NFL is considering imposing rookie salary limits next year...so if you're a junior...you could risk losing millions if you stay.

UF was looking to sign 33-34...but the attrition rate is lower than expected, so it's looking more like 29-31. Meyer has definately shown that he can recruit with the best of them...I do like how he doesn't just go after players as Zooker did. The players UF has signed fit well into Meyer's system...shoot, 5* RB S. Johnson was ready to commit to UF in November, but Meyer & Co. dropped him because he doesn't fit the system.
However, with USC only signing 4-5* players, UF may not end up being the #1 class afterall...although, on paper this is looking to be the best class in UF history.

Yes, a system that hasn't been proven in the SEC. This isn't the WAC or MAC, wherever he came from. We actually play defense down here. The jury is still out on Urban Crier.

Blah-Blah-Blah-Blah-Blah...you've been saying this same crap for a year now...Meyer came in, won 9 games with a team he had been coaching less than a year, with players that do not fit his system, won the bowl game, and cleaned up the disciplinary issues...all with just 6 more scholarship players than bammer. Now, he's went out, signed what looks to be the #1 class in the country. Maybe your jury is out...but for Gator fans, the trial is over.
I think the jury is still out on Shuler...I mean, losing 4 in a row to your archrival  ...that's pretty pathetic...UF's archrival, f$u, hasn't beaten us 4 times in a row since I've been alive!!! :D

Time to change the record, Chimes.
It's funny....Zook's "system" worked fine, and was "proven," in the SEC, but Meyer's system wins more games/loses less games, gets a New Year's bowl win, sets a whole bunch of records, and you're still espousing this worn, tired argument?

I don't think anyone can catch us at this point. USC is still almost 1,000 points behind us. And we still have a few more coming. Word is we're going to pull a few before NSD as well.

The more I look at it...I think you're probably right...we will sign 5-6 more players...all of them being 4 or 5* guys...so it'll be hard for anyone to catch us. Plus, with Grant not making the score needed to be admitted to UF, that guarantees 5* J. Johnson a scholly...he's got 3 years of eligibility left and is a beast at LB...hope he can stay out of trouble, though.
What's your thoughts on C. Spiller, GN? I think he is a nole, but with this guys religious background, I don't see how he'll fit in at f$u.

Is Johnson a 5-star on GC? He clocks in at 3 stars on Rivals. Someone should clean up these dumb rankings....it doesn't make sense to me how the same game film can inform such drastically different evaluations.
As for Spiller, most signs point to f$u. He's even been quoted as saying that f$u is his team, he's signing with them, and he's just taking his visits to be entertained before NSD. I thought we may have had a shot at one point--I think I remember him even saying we were his leader at one point--but I just don't think so. Let's put it this way: if he signs with Florida, I'll be really, REALLY surprised. But then again, maybe he'll pull an f$u and sign with us after leading the noles on this whole time. It'd be a nice change (read: Myron Rolle).
I'm hearing we take Mon Williams and call it a day at RB.

Hearing the same about Williams...yea, JJ is a 5* guy on Scout...or at least he was a month ago. There's a rumor that Rivals is pro-f$u...if you look at some of our commits...they tend to drop a star or two after commiting on the Rivals site...I could care less really, JJ would be a guy that could come in and play right away.
Spiller is a nole...I hear he and Tebow are good buds but I don't see him signing with UF...even though, it's the better situation for a RB.

Spiller did the Gator chomp at the Auburn game after the crowd kept chanting his name, but it's all smoke and mirrors. Sounds like peer pressure in reacting to the crowd rather than wanting to be a Gator.
Meyer, his wife, and Tebow were sitting with Spiller and his mom....among the other recruits and hosts at the game (Siler, Atkins, etc.). If you ask me, it's a perfunctory visit that doesn't mean a thing. Let's take Mon and get a few others to seal up the top class....still hearing that we may be stealing one or two before/on NSD. Tebow has been working really hard. Hopefully, that will translate into some verbals.
Yeah, the f$u-Rivals conspiracy has gotten a lot of mileage on the boards. Dot even posted some things over at Warchant to defend his position that it happened to free-shoes as well. Who knows, but it does seem like it happens a little too often to us.
I just wanna know how many times Bright, Hardick, and Mincey are going to count toward f$u's class.....I heard none of them are going to qualify.....AGAIN, lol.
F$U: class is optional.
