Clarence Bailey, the 4-star OL from Pennsylvania just decommited from Ole Miss and is headed to the Gamecocks.
Life sucks, but I am glad you guys got him instead of another West Conference Team.
This should bump you out of 40th place and drop us a couple of knotches.

Scout has Bailey listed as backing off his Ole Miss committment and going back to being undecided with a Gamecock lean.

The report is true. Great news for us, but proof that it ain't over until the LOI is signed.

What's the scoop on this guy qualifying academically? He a JUCO, isn't he? Lot of times, highly rated JUCO players are in JUCO for a reason...
just curious if anyone knows whether he's got it good on the book side of things or if he's just a highly rated body who has as good a chance of never playing big time college ball as he does starting for an SEC team in a year or two.

Yeah, and he gets to do winter workouts and spring practice which will be a tremendous asset to SC come 2006 football season.

If I had to bet, I'd say that Ko does in fact leave, but Joseph will see the writing on the wall and return next season.

Do you think we can steal gamble from UGA?

Perhaps this shouldnt go in this thread but since most SC fans look on here the most then I'll go ahead and put it here.
Apparently Carlos Thomas has been moved permanently to defensive back. I guess Spurrier and Staff are already preparing for the loss of Simpson,Joseph, or both. With the number of offensive weapons returing next year I say that this move makes a lot of sense. I think that Thomas could be a great DB as he has all the right tools to excel in the position...not to mention he has already recorded an interception against one of the best QB's in the SEC in his first season.
Oops...wrong thread:o
Consider it moved.

Thats the way I see things unfolding as well. Joseph will certainly go AFTER Simpson and Im sure there are other DB's who will go in between. With the amount of talent in this class I dont see someone with only ONE year of Div- I-A experience under their belt getting anywhere near the amount of money possible with another year under their belt.

On rivals they have him listed as a soft verbal with SC in second. He's coming for a visit in January so we will have to wait and see. It's awfully hard to get a kid away from CMR when he really wants him though. Just my opinion.

The only thing that worries me about JJ is that he sooooo fast. NFL scouts start drooling when they see 40 times like his. His last 40 he clocked in at 4.3. Just remember Dunta Robinson and you can see why I'm a little worried.

His speed is definately in his favor. I just remember in the first half of the year cussing him out and saying he was my biggest disappointment of the year. The second half of the year I was singing his praise. He has come a long way but I think he could come even farther with more time. If it took him a half season to adjust to Div. I-A from JUCO then it will certainly take him a while to adjust to the Pro's. Another year in the SEC would greatly ease that transition.

I think one more year could definitly benefit Joesph, KO is all world and could easliy make the transition.
