They are ours baby....another set of twin on the defensive side tof the ball. they are ranked high on scout but only 2 stars on rivals, they need to get on the same page....but either way we got two more solid guys tonight!

That is affirmative! Two sets of twins on defense. What a nightmare for our coaches :) and our opponents

maybe we will see one of each of them on the DE side and one MLB and one OLB. So I guess the summary for our team this year is gonna be that all of our cocks look alike but one of them is Smelley.

Not sure what year they are, but what pisses me off is that they were 4 stars until the committed to USC. As soon as they updated their status on rivals they got dropped for some reason.

I'm not sure the twins thing is a good idea. There are too many problems with having brothers on a team...twins makes it worse.

UCLA had the Ball Twins a couple of years ago. Over time, one (Mat, I believe) began to excel while the other (Dave, I think) did not improve much. Apparently, the coaching staff had a very difficult time with this because they were afraid #1 twin would be upset if they sat #2 twin.

USC has the Ting Twins. They are okay, but once again Brandon is the better of the two...and he is only pretty good. The rumor is that they were still available both available toward the end of recruiting season and the novelty was too much to pass up. They are academic All-Americans and my guess is that they will both start by their Senior seasons, but they will never threaten anyone's jobs in the NFL.

I hope these guys work out for USC, but the history of twins on D1 teams is such that they are not likely to have a tremendous impact.

The Lindsey twins have both made an impact in their second season at USC. They were recruited two years ago as co-defensive players of the year in Alabama.

I don't see anything wrong with picking up twins. I don't think they were ever 4-stars on rivals. But remember that all the athletes are reevaulated later on.

Luckily it has worked out for us, the Lindsey twins were awesome down the stretch.....

You can't look at all of twin sets as bad because of a few instances. If we judged all on a few, then many of us wouldn't being doing so well in others eyes.

You are exactly right. I have three instances (the Balls at UCLA, the Tings at USCal Fball, and the Stewarts at USCal BB) of it not working out. You guys have one (the Lindseys) of it working out.

If you go back to my original post, you will see that it started with the following words:

I'm not sure the twins thing is a good idea.

This would indicate a lack of certainty on my part and signals that the post is opinion only.

As to "judging all on a few," the process of deductive reasoning begins in positing premises based on the occurrences that we have at hand. For instance, how many times do you have to put your hand into a flame before you realize it hurts? The fact is that we seldom suspend judgement based on too few occurrences, it is rare that we do not foreclose our cognitive processes when initial information arrives.

Oh, yeah. I stand by my original assertion that I am not sure the twins thing is such a good idea.

It's the sweet tea and southern humidity that makes them work out...........

That's why they actually play the games, instead of just letting guys like me and you yap about them.

Spurriers not afraid to pull a scholly either. Each player will earn his scholly. I hope each and everyone keeps theirs but I think they are aware of his standards.

I think the best thing about recruiting twins is that you get two at a once. While they may be 2 stars on rivals. I think the fact that one is 6' 3" and 250 lbs and the other is 6' 3" and 260 lbs and both run a 4.6 40 is good for me. I think they could play defensive end as well. Rivals stars don't always mean too much., Ko nor Sidney were 3 stars out of high school. Look at them now. It what you can do in college. How hard you are willing to work, attitude and many other things that make you a good player.

SCOUTS.COM: Yah hello! Scouts.com, how may I help you?

RIVALS: Hey there, it's Rivals again. You guys have the Brinkley twins at 3 stars?

SCOUTS: That's right, what's it to ya?

SCOUTS: Yer damn right we have! You callin' us LIARS! We saw video of at least 3 games of theirs...I got 'em right....err...they're right...they're here somewhere dammit!

RIVALS: Ok ok...look, calm down. We're just askin cuz we only got one real grainy tape and it was labeled 'Brown Tape' or something...anyway, the LB's chasing this running back sucked & we thought it was the Brinkley twins but you have em at 3 stars so we thought we'd check with you to see what's up?

SCOUTS: Running back you say? How fast was he? What number'd he wear? What school'd he play for? Was it in color? Did you...

RIVALS: Alright! Enough about the running back, forget the damn running back. He's NOTHING, you hear me? We need to know about the BRINKLEY TWINS, you idiot!

SCOUTS: Who you callin' an idiot? You're the one who hasn't seen these guys play.

RIVALS: Are they good or not?

SCOUTS: Buy a subscription and I'll tell ya. heh heh.

RIVALS: #$%#^^ you.

SCOUTS: In that case, I don't know.

RIVALS: Ok ok, I'll take one subscription....I'll pay monthly. Now, whaddya know?

SCOUTS: You'll pay for a full year for the bonus price.

RIVALS: Ok fine!

SCOUTS: They're three stars.

RIVALS: Three stars? That's it?

SCOUTS: Use your subscription, like everyone else please.

RIVALS: Thanks....thanks a lot.

SCOUTS: We appreciate your business, thank you for calling Scouts!

And the rest, they say...is history.

maybe they will get back to the 4 stars they once were. I was wrong about Sidney Rice, he was a 3 star wide reciever out of high school and Ko Simpson was a 2 star. Cody Wells and Cory Boyd were both 3 star Safetys out of high school that year. Stars, stars, stars can he play in 2 or 3 years? That is what is important.

Sometimes it takes players making a move for them to be noticed and reevaluated. Otherwise they get lost in the shuffle.
