I'm assuming that Thompson was told he will not be retained after his contract is up next year. Hopefully he reads the writing on the wall and resigns so Tyrone can consolidate his hold over the D. I don't think I have to tell you Cock's fans how much better the D got when Thompson was stripped of his play-calling duties.
I was listening to sportstalk w/ Phil Kornblut and he said he had spoken to Thompson during the 5 o'clock hour. He wouldn't elaborate more than spurrier, but Kornblut said he thought that Stockstill might be trying to hire him as DC @ MTSU, personally I think that would be good for Thompson, also I don't think he should be forced to resign or be fired, he isn't bad, I know the D got better in the second half, but if you look so did the kicking and the offesive efficiency skyrocketed during the second half. I think the more good coaches we have on the staff, the better, but then I'm not paid to coach.....

very good points RTR....but I say if he's going to go, then I wish he would go, so that way Spurrier can name Nix the head man on the D side of the ball. That, in my opinion, would be a boost for recruiting.
