Richard Pryor is gone at the age of 65. Being of considerable age myself, Pryor was an icon of sorts, one who went where others did not dare, he pushed the envelope and hit the big time.

I found Pryor to be a funny SOB and a gifted individual who brought the human experience to a state where anyone could enjoy it in a humorous way. While MS took away his ability to stay in the forefront of comedy as his time came, Richard Pryor will be remembered for his unique and enduring ability to cut across the societal barriers and make us laugh at ourselves. May he rest in peace.

The inspiration he gave others along with the fact that he broke down so many barriers in his art is enough to ensure that his presence will be felt long after he has passed. I think Im gonna go out today and buy another one of his standup acts to add to my collection. Truly one of the greatest comedians ever and I hope he rests in peace.

I was so sad to hear that he passed :( I am ready to pop in a few of his stand up acts and laugh till it hurts. His wife had this to say after they tried to resuscitate him but couldn't at the hospital: "at the end there was a smile on his face." Rest in Peace Richard.
