College Football Awards tonight

At 7:00 EST on ESPN the College Football Awards is on. DeMeco Ryans is up for an award (forget which) and the SEC should be well represented.

The SEC hasnt been represented at all yet. The only SEC player I saw so far has been a lineman for Auburn. He hasnt allowed a sack in 41 games and he still didnt get the award.

I've watched the past couple awards, and I havn't seen an SEC player yet.

And, Mike Hass , some white guy from Oregon St., won the Bilinknekauf (sp?) (WR's) award.

Greg Blue and DeMeco Ryans we're the only All-American Defense.

Wow, 4 SEC players out of around 22 represented in the All-American team.

Honestly, what did you expect? Every year this show is all about players from teams in the National Championship. Last year OU and USC players won most of the awards. This year all the Texas and USC guys are winning the awards.

I still enjoy the show though.

Also, how bout Big Max and Blue taking home all american honors.

You sure he was up for an award tonight? I think this week's he was up for was Tuesday night in N.Y. for the Draddy Award, the "academic heisman". Unfortunately, he did not win the Draddy.

I believe he did not make the finalists cut for the one tonight that he was on the list for earlier this year.

He is still up as a finalist for the Butkus award on Saturday though. He is a finalist along with A.J. Hawk and Paul Posluszny.

I think that's the only other one he's a finalist for.

Ooops, you are correct. I thought the Lott Award had already been given out earlier this week, but looks like it's not until Sunday. I was thinking of the Bronko Nagurski Trophy that was given out earlier in the week to some guy from Louisville.

Yeah for some reason I thought he was there for an award. Their was an article in the Crimson White about him being in Orlando so I guess I just assumed wrong. By the way, who else thought it was funny to see that old Oklahoma coach on stage acting like a moron? Possibly a little too much to drink before hand?
