Suprised that McClover is on there. He has all the talent in the world, but was hurt for the most part of the year. Duckworth doesn't suprise me as much because he was excellent this year for us. Great at run blocking

I like the line under coach of the Year for Spurrier: "The best thing for the Gamecock is it will only get better from here." ;)

Daayuuum! They didn't have to say this...

"Their (UGA's) battering of LSU in the SEC title game was their most complete performance of the season."

"For LSU, the fallout from the SEC championship game loss was a painful reminder to everyone in the league of just how warped the bowl process can be.

The Tigers (10-2) went into the game ranked third and thinking they might have an outside shot to play in the Rose Bowl Presented by Citi for the national title if they could beat Georgia and either Southern Cal or Texas was upset.

Instead, they tumbled all the way to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl despite having more wins and having beaten all three of the teams selected ahead of them in the league's higher-tier bowls -- Auburn in the Capital One, Alabama in the AT&T Cotton and Florida in the Outback. But then, nobody ever said life in the SEC was fair."

Obviously, that line disturbs me............because it's true.

Smacking the Canes around like little bee-yaches will make that pain disappear.
Seriously, that's gonna be a great game.

I hope they do smack the canes around, my buddy at work has already started talking about how bad the canes are gonna put the beatdown on LSU.

How can the "Biggest Suprise" not be a 9-2 Bama. I'm sorry Gamecocks, but going from 6-5 -> 7-4 is not really comparable to 6-5 -> 9-2. But Spurrier is the feel good story so ride that horse ESPN!!

It is when 13 of your better players get kicked off the squad and you start the season 2-3, getting whacked 85-21 by Alabama and Auburn and transforming gradually from mouseketeers to a pretty good football team. The surprise is in the TRANSFORMATION.

[They keeps fergittin'---I keeps remindin' :p ]

You've also got to keep in mind that most people's mindsets (including myself) when comparing teams for honors like this is going to remember more recent events than older ones. Therefore, the end of the season is fresher on the mind than the beginning of the season. Bama started to fall a good bit at the end of the season from the dominance we had in the beginning, while SC had a great run at the end of their season.
