I haven't seen anyone say anything about it here so I will say it.
The 6th place team in the SEC took the ACC Champion to the woodshed.
Of course, the ACC has overtaken the SEC as the country's premier football conference.
Go SEC and good job Gators. :D

You got that right.ACC sucks, big ten was better this season than ACC.The SEC was down, but still the best conference.

Not flaming, but for some reason...that 6th place SEC team almost always beats conference champions... UT-1997, LSU-2001, UGA-2002, LSU-2003 and UGA-2005...f$u-95,96,97, and 2005....also spanked ACC champ Maryland in the Orange Bowl 2001..SOS's last game.

My god, I wasn't flaming Florida. Too bad Florida wasn't 6th place in the SEC all those years that you mentioned.
Also, hardware trumps mouthware every time (stolen from Colonel). ;)

Man...did I touch a nerve....I said I wasn't flaming! Just thought about the fact when I read your post...sorry, dude! Didn't think you were flamin' the Gators.

My fault, I thought you were getting all defensive because I called Florida the 6th place SEC team. It was a pretty impressive list though. :)

Don't make me separate you two........I wonder if someone has some stats about the SEC vs everyone else this year, and PLEASE DON'T MENTION THE TROJANS VS ARKANSAS!!! That one was played to death, was the reason everyone jumped on the "SEC is down" bandwagon, and it sure as hell wouldn't produce a 70-3 score if played today.
We should make t-shirts, "SEC: Re-asserting our dominance, one bowl game at time"

That game was too early for a brand new defense to play in, I mean yeah we got taken to the wood shed, but you guys know that we had a brand new DC that changed our hole Defense right? Not to mention first year starters as QB's,HB's, and a butt load on Defense! Take away that one game, and we would have been like 16th in the nation in total Defense! Reggie Herring made a huge impact on this defense, it just took 4 or 5 games for the team to get the hang of it. Lay off the Hogs man.

Besides look what USC did to UCLA the supposed 11th ranked team in the country at the time! Texas did the same to Colorado. USC is a juggernaut team!
ARK lost 70-17
UCLA lost 66-19
Tejas beat Col 70-3

You're making my point for me. Which is that USC would not beat the Hogs that badly if the game were played now. McFadden had just under a 100 in his 3rd collegiate game.
My point is this. For whatever reason, after that game, people began to elevate USC AND downgrade the SEC simultaneously, which was wrong. Arkansas is a better team, and it would be a much closer game today. The press started looking for reasons to point out flaws in the whole conference.

Really not one of our teams could beat USC this year, but as a conference PLEASE! We have twice the conference they do! I do think that Auburn and Georgia could give them a game though.

I think Texas is the only team that could game by game, give USC its best challenge. Some teams this year in the SEC have played great some games, but sloppy others. Texas has played pretty solid all year long.

Can't wait until next year when USC loses all those players...I hope someone puts 70 on them...that's freakin' ridiculous!

I have been praising the Trojans for 3 plus years now. Arkansas had absolutely nothing to do with it. I agree with you guys. If played today, the USC-Arkansas game would not be the same. It would be worse. The Trojans are playing like a well oiled machine, just like they have the last 3 years towards the end of the season. I know I know. The SEC has NEVER been beaten by an ACC or any other out of conference team. Pure dominance.

I agree, I think USC has only gotten better this year. I hope Texas beats them just because I am tired of them dominating. Maybe they will pull a Miami and fall hard after their national championship loss.
