Has anyone else heard this rumor? I've read it a few times on various sites, just a rumor for now. Apparently all the scandal and losing 70-3 has finally pushed Barnett out the door after the bowl game and rumor has it that Houston Nutt would be pursued pretty hard by the Buffs.

I just heard that on the radio as well. Barnett and Nutt both got 70 hung on them this year, they have that much in common. With all the rumors going around about Nutt and the University who knows.

There all over message boards.. but there is probably 500 different rumors about our program now so who knows what is going on. I just wish we could finally get everything straightened out and find out what the heck is happening.

I heard this rumor....but with the added twist that Colorado has already requested permission to speak with Nutt and that Broyles told him to "seriously consider taking this job"...i.e. implying that Broyles wants Nutt to take the job to get out of paying him the remainder of his extended contract and the other implication was that Butch Davis was gonna be hired.

Butch Davis?? That's just Nutts! j/k...couldn't resist. Seriously though, Butch Davis took over a powerhouse of a program when Erickson left Miami and I think he had one conference title and lost to F$U every year but one (the year they won that lone conference title) in his 6(?) years there.

Butch Davis....you can have him but I'd be hoping for better. If he can't win the Big East with the 1990's Hurricanes, how you think he'll fare in the SEC with the Razorbacks?? No offense to Ark fans but that's not even anywhere close to his old recruiting base....that idea is doomed to failure, I would think.

Yea, They can have his monkey azz. I'll even make a donation. In all seriousness, I hope the guy has a hell of a learning curve about the SEC or we'll just be pretenders again. Oh, and he can take that 2 tight end set and shove it where the sun don't shine. Once or twice a game maybe but not 10-12 plays a game, Not in this league. Thats just one beef I got.

I beg to differ. Davis did win the Big East with a Miami team that finished the season ranked in the top 5 and only lost 1 game. He's a very good coach and an even better recruiter and he's from Arkansas and played for Broyles so he knows how things work in Fayetteville.

How old is Frank Broyles? He retired as head coach in like 1976 didn't he? He must be like 90 or something.

I believe he is 937 y/o. I am pretty sure he planted most of the redwoods in Sequoia National Park.

Nutt is OFFICIALLY not going to Colorado. He announced it this morning and Broyles says no CU official ever contacted him. Nutt has organized a press conference for 1:00 today to announce his first ever offensive coordinator and it is likely to be the head coach of the Springdale High School. (read the Arkansas Thread). This will be a huge recruiting boost because of the respect Malzahn has around the state and with his players (hint...Mustain and Williams).
