Chatman easily better than Miles, Brady, Laval
In a poll among Baton Rougeans, LSU women's basketball coach Pokey Chatman is clearly the best when going head to head against men's basketball coach John Brady, baseball coach Smoke Laval and football coach Les Miles. So say readers of BusinessReport.com and Daily Report. In an online poll, 83% of 862 respondents gave Chatman the nod as best of the four coaches. Miles, a 10-game winner in his first season, got just 10% of the vote. Critics of Miles say he's the next Mike Archer, a coach who won with Bill Arnsparger's talent but flamed out quickly. John Brady, who is said to be on the hot seat this year, got just 4% of the tally, while Laval struck out with readers with 3%.

Give Miles time. He may not be as good as your last coach, but there's enough talent to win and get recruits.

I wish I could believe that, but I don't think he's got the fire that he needs to coach in the SEC. LSU clearly was not ready for the game with Georgia in the SEC championship game. If Miami puts a whipping on us in the Peach Bowl, I think you can kiss Miles goodbye. And I will say good riddance if that happens. We need someone here who can clearly coach and lead. Curly Hallman came in here a few years ago and did okay his first year with Arnsparger's recruits, but then he went into the toilet. Right now, it looks like Miles is built in that same mold. The offense has gotten no better all year; as a matter of fact, in some respects, they went backwards. And Miles is an offensive guru?? Give me a break! I want a coach. Mike Price, to me, is heads and shoulders above Miles as a coach. I'd take him in the blink of an eye.

No way. You're stuck with him for a while.

Better learn to like him. :)

I give him 2 more seasons and see what he can do. Personally, I don't think he is the right coach for the LSU program. We will see however.
