ATLANTA, Ga. – Vanderbilt senior quarterback Jay Cutler was named the Southeastern Conference's Offensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press today and joined fellow Commodore senior Moses Osemwegie on the panel's First Team All-SEC squad.

Quarterback Jay Cutler was the AP's selection as SEC Offensive Player of the Year.
Cutler, the Vanderbilt career record holder in virtually every statistical category for quarterbacks and just weeks after completing arguably the greatest season ever by a Commodore skilled position player, becomes the first Vanderbilt player to ever win SEC Offensive Player of the Year honors from the panel of Associated Press SEC beat writers.

Weren't you the guy to be ashamed of Vandy about a month ago? Or was that someone else? I told you that Vandy is now the real deal. Next year will be a down year, but in 2 years, you guys will be back again...

No, it was me. And my opinions still have not changed. Bruce Fowler has to go. And there is still no excuse for losing to MTSU and UK. Yes, overall I am happy about this season. Especially since we beat that crappy team to the east. And that progress is being shown. But there still needs to be staff changes on the defensive side of the ball. Allthough I know there won't be.

Yeah, they are my #2 team in the SEC, it's good to finally see them get some success this year, too bad next year will be a drop-off, hopefully they'll start a Freshman QB and let him grow, so that in 2 years or 3 years they can fight for a bowl again...

Shockley is very good. But Cutler deserved it more, bottom line. And don't even bring up wins and losses. That has nothing to do with it.

I'm not saying Cutler isn't good. I just think Shockley was a tad more deserving.
