I'm not trying to flame or drag out this debate, but overall this just seems like a bad choice by the Outback committee. Two weeks ago it seemed like a lock that the Outback would be USC v. Michigan. Now the rumor is it's a lock for Florida v. Iowa. Obviously I'm biased, but it just seems to me like the first option would be more interesting to the nation at large. What say you non-USC and non-UF fans? I could very well be wrong in my thinking.

Of course if they end up picking Michigan tomorrow this is a non-issue, cause I think it's Iowa that's the really bad choice.

Well Florida vs Iowa is a win for the sec.
USC vs Michigan isnt a sure bet.
Obviously USC VS MICHIGAN would easily trump UF vs IU.
Who do you guys play if you go to Shreveport?

No offense, but UM rolls usc. USC/Iowa would be a better game.

Just my opinion.

Probably Colorado or Iowa St....I'd rather play Colorado but after today's beatdown Iowa St. may jump ahead of them if their fans travel as well as Colorado's.

I think Michigan would beat us, and you guys would have a decent chance of beating them....but I don't think USC would get crushed by Michigan. It's all about getting attention and focus on the program...if we got crushed we can still say, 'Hey it's year 1 under Spurrier and we beat UF and UT...give it time and we can hang with the Michigan's of the world.' I really don't think it would hurt us that bad in recruiting and could still end up helping us just to get the attention during pregame hype on ESPN. However, playing in a game no one will care about won't help us much at all. Kids want to go to schools where they'll become 'famous'....the more exposure we get the better, even if it's occassionally in the form of a big loss. You guys at UF don't have to worry about exposure, but this is how we're going to need to go about becoming a recruiting force outside of the immediate area.

....but I don't think Michigan would destroy us anyway.

I heard that it might be USC vs Mizzou in the Independence Bowl. But I also heard Spurrier said he wanted to play Oklahoma.

usc/OU or usc/Nebrasska would be great for South Carolina, imo.

I'd love to see Spurs b!tch-slap Callahan's smug face.

Like some others, I think Florida vs. Iowa would be a win for the SEC and I am not so sure that South Carolina can beat Michigan. But I do dearly love to see Spurs on the sidelines coaching a big game!

Would love to see Stoops get "owned" by Spurs....that would be awesome! Look USC fans...with Spurs there...your days of living in the shadows of the SEC East big three are over...you guys don't need a big bowl game this year for exposure. WIN the bowl game and that'll be good enough...I'll be a Cock that day...wait! I mean a USC fan!

I agree. I would want to play someone we could possibly beat.

Regarding the above poll, it is a toss-up. Either may be just as interesting. Though I think FL would beat Iowa and we would lose to MI, so from that standpoint, the FL matchup would be better for the SEC.

Not really...........Most of the votes are not UF or SC votes, and the vote is 14-6. So far, there are just as many UF votes as SC votes. There are 3 UF votes (yours, bluescap, and xenythx) and 3 SC votes (JerryBeeds, TKE223, and USC_fanboy04) in the poll.

Removng those votes would make the poll 11 to 3 in favor of a SC/Michigan matchup.

Whoops sorry I voted.

So in another topic, I just read SC doesnt have its schedule filled next year...they are looking at the Citadel to fill the void. Does anyone learn anything that playing a D1-AA team is not a good idea. They are already playing MTSU and FIU (or is it FAU).

i think the reason USC MIch is a better game is because no one wants to see iowa play anybody, cant think of a more boring team, besides for Missouri, or maybe Wisconsin, Rutgers or Boston College.
