Now that Fresno St. has been made of fool of on their home turf, dropped their last 3 games, and has been knocked out of the top 25 does my opposition still believe Oregon should be in the BCS? In the final rankings the Ducks will have beaten 0 top 25 teams. I don’t think that is very deserving of a BCS game.

I actually think that the more compelling reason to rank them lower is the loss of their starting QB. They are not the same team without Clemens.

The man speaks the truth. They're as different a team without him as the Gamecocks were this year in the game we played without Blake Mitchell.

ND will have beaten one (BCS) top-25 team: #19 Michigan (and they're even lower in the AP/USA polls); but ND has one more (bad) loss to Michigan State that, imo, tilts it in the Ducks' favor.
I feel for the Ducks. This is the second time they got screwed....anyone remember the 2001 season when Nebrasska backed into the title game?

I hate Oregon because of that PacBen guy. So I'll be laughing at them.

(and yes, i know it doesn't gaurentee it, but come on, no BCS bowl is gonna turn down an eligable ND team)

I think ND's "deal" is just about the most pathetic thing in football. Nut up, join the Big 10(+1), earn your national keep, and stop getting special treatment because of the "four horsemen" and "Rudy."

Oregon played the schedule that was put before them and went 10-1. As did LSU who went 10-1. LSU played on consecutive weekends Appalachian State and North Texas State. And besides Alabama and Auburn the Tigers' SEC schedule wasn't anything to really yell about. Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas ? And they lost to a Tennessee team that nose dived. And then there was Vandy and Florida. Oh, they played Arizona State as did Oregon. So why am I rambling on about LSU. They should be undeserving of a BCS bowl because of Appalachian State, North Texas State, and SEC weaklings Ole Miss and Mississippi State. But then the Tigers played the schedule that was put before them too. Didn't they.

Oregon didn't deserve to go to the MNC that year. Allow me to remind you that the reason Nebraska got to go was because their SOS was ranked MUCH higher than Oregon's and they had one (1) more win to their name.
Remember, back in 2001 the BCS meant something. It factored in SOS, QW, MOV, etc, etc. Nebraska deserved to go to that game no matter what the LIBERAL media says.
The BCS now is just like a pure-bred pitbull without any teeth.

you just named 3 ranked teams lsu played and beat. the only ranked team oregon PLAYED(pathetic, if you ask me, and ucla is in the same boat) they lost by 32. play one ranked team, lose by 32, and you think they are deserving of a bcs bowl.

Maybe, but that destruction at the hands of Colorado makes me wonder how accurate the calculations had been.
Just a thought....

Everybody is entitled to at least one azz-whipping a year. To get back to your comment though, the same thing could be said for the STOMPING that the Gators got in the Fiesta Bowl against Nebraska. (62-24)
See what I'm getting at? That game looked pretty damn nasty and some people quickly realized that Florida didn't deserve to be there.

What I'm saying is this. Any major division 1 power, like LSU, that plays Appalachian State and North Texas State on consecutive weekends should be eliminated from BCS consideration. Period.

No...that was a MNC game involving two undefeated teams with my (poor-tackling) Gators up against arguably the best cfb team of all time and, certainly, the best option QB of all time in TFraz.
It's not the same at all.
However, it is more like our 'phant game this year--though bama is a much better team than CU was in 2001. I think that NU/CU game in 2001 was one of the all-time mysteries in cfb. I'd love to watch it again to see what happened exactly. I just remember the TE and the RBs going crazy.

if you look oregon played montana, who is also a d 1aa school. north texas isnt good, but they went bowling last year and is comparable to oregon's houston game which they played before the montana game, making it houston and montana in consecutive weeks. do you really see much difference? the only difference is that lsu didnt lose by 32 to the only good team they played. period.
i find it funny people look to the 2 games they didnt play instead of the ranked teams they played and beat.
