Yeah, heard this earlier today on the radio. Didn't really surprise me thought. :)

It's crazy with the random drug screenings nowadays how many idiots still try to get away with stuff like this. It's surprising they hadn't already been pulled for a drug screening before they were arrested.

I lived next to some of the freshman players during my first year at Alabama, though none of them dressed in their time at Bama. One of them tested positive for marijuana (and I think cocaine) at some point during his freshman year. From what I heard, he was a decent player and likely would have at least dressed at some point in his career at UA. When his father was informed of his son being kicked off the team, this young man's father broke down in tears. It was his dream to see his son go off and make something of himself. He had a free ride on a football scholarship, and just threw it all out the window because of bad decisions with drugs.

It's unfortunate to see people make stupid mistakes like this, but mistakes are definitely a part of life. Hopefully they can turn themselves around and make something of themselves, just likely without football being a part of their careers.
