Can anyone explain to me why I keep reading that if the Trojans lose to UCLA on sat. that they will still be Pac-10 champs. Both teams would have one conference loss and zero out of conference losses. Shouldn’t the Bruins get the nod for the tiebreak against Southern California? I thought uscrebel could clear this one up.

Well, technically, if USC were to loose it would make a 3-way tie between Oregon (7-1 in PAC10), USC (now 7-1) and UCLA (now 7-1). I don't know whether they would go to head-to-head elimination, which would make UCLA technically above USC, and (sinse Oregon lost to USC) put USC above Oregon and make USC vs UCLA in the Championship (The same thing if USC beat UCLA, theirfore making this game totally useless as far as determaning Pac-10 champs).
Or they could go to Overall record (which is retarded), which then would make Oregon 10-1, USC 11-1, and UCLA 11-1. And therefore matching up USC and UCLA (Again {Again}).
My head hurts. Either way, USC is going to the Pac-10 championship. That's probably why the SEC is split into 2 subdivisions.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just throwing up info.

I'm pretty sure the Pac ten has yet to have a championship game so it would seem that if UCLA beat them then UCLA would win the championship...however I think that would have little effect on the BCS selection...UCLA would get the automatic BCS bid...but USC would still get to go to the Rosebowl with the at large like Oklahoma did a couple years ago...don't ask me how. In effect all that would do is bump another undeserving at large (Notre Dame) out of the BCS games.

Even if they lose, as long as it's not a blowout, it won't matter.... they'll still be in the NC game. I'd be shocked if they weren't. You can't tell me that the #1 team on a 30+ game winning streak could drop below the other 1-loss teams, if their only loss came to a #11 UCLA team in a local rivalry game.
