Anything outside of Columbia is always awesome to folks there. It's a whole new world out here!

Just struck me as a sweet LSU girl studying on the grass with her friends. I have a soft spot for such things.

Haha hey Geaux after the comment you made it inspired me to post this quote from a 5 star recruit that just visited LSU:

"It was Ok," Holmes said. "It was just not what I expected. I don't know. I just didn't feel it. I didn't get a good vibe at all from the visit, plus the location was kind of like in the middle of the country."

Hi JB! Riled you a little did I??
Well, you know, when your Waffle Houses and IHOPs are listed in "Fine Dining In Columbia" you begin to wonder about the culture.

Have you ever been to Columbia? I've seen enough of Louisiana on TV the last few months to know that is one hell hole I'll never live in.

Hmmmmm. I think he must have been confusing us with Tuscalooooooooser or The Barn or Oxfart; he surely wasn't in Baton Rouge! The middle of the swamp; the middle of the bayou; the middle of Acadiana; the middle of haute cuisine; the middle of music... perhaps; but NOT the middle of the country, for sure!

Picking to live ANYWHERE in Louisiana over Columbia is kind of like dating the fat girl that reeks of BO in your high school gym class. :D Just "kidding" Geaux...

Wait 'til he takes a gander at Gainesville and Tallahassee!
From his looks, he might like to visit Miami, too.
And I'm just wondering... did he pass any subjects in high school other than burglary 101 and advanced mugging??

Geaux are you coming to Atlanta this weekend? If so, you will see some of the best looking girls in the SEC. Ole Miss and Georgia are the class of the SEC in that department IMO.

I have been to NO, never Baton Rouge, but after staying in the Big Easy I know enough never to go back, maybe if I had a glock or two on me...just maybe. I did however love Mississippi and Bama, some of the nicest folks I ever met where in a little town right on the Miss/Bama border.

GeauxTo brother. I'm probably one of your biggest fans. I did a "tour of duty" for 3 years in the heart of the CBD in NO at Charity. I also had the pleasure of having to travel throughout Louisiana, including such highlights as Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lake Charles, Houma and all points in between. I lived in a wonderful little town called Abita Springs. One of my best friends was a Tiger fanatic that owned a deli on Tulane Ave across from Charity. Serio had this hilarious picture amongst all the LSU helmets and jersey's ect.. It was small and out of the way while people ate, but it had this Bengal Tiger squatting in a nasty pool of water, about to do "his business." The caption read, "The making of a Green Wave." The people are absolutely the best in the country down there, but honestly, you better hope no one takes a camera to Baton Rouge or your argument is toast. I think Dire Straits wrote a song about BRouge...it was called "Industrial Disease." :D

Baton Rouge can be confusing to outsiders, I know. The industrial complexes are pretty much north, along the river, and in West Baton Rouge Parish. It is the largest petro-chemical conglomerate in America. LSU itself is one of the prettier campuses in America; beautiful avenues lined with 150 year-old oak trees and buildings with tile roofs. South Baton Rouge, south of LSU, is beautiful; large old oak trees, beautiful residential areas, and upscale shopping and medical facilities. Restaurants in Baton Rouge are second to none, anywhere. Music and blues clubs abound. The Mall of Louisiana (located in South Baton Rouge) is one of the nation's nicest and largest. Baton Rouge is truly in the heart of an outdoor paradise if you like to hunt and fish; for example, on the east side of Baton Rouge is a huge new Bass Pro Shop and to the south is a huge new Cabela's (rarely are both of these giants found in the same city). I am a biased native, of course, but I could live anywhere; I like it here and this is the place I love to live.
