Hello everyone, we are headed to Lexington for the Tennessee/Kentucky football on the 26th. We have never really spent time in Lexington just mainly passing by. My question is about parking for the game, do they have a sufficent amount of parking or is it like in Knoxville where at times you have to park a mile awhile. Thanks for any info.

I'd take that to mean that you can park at the front door.

The following webpage has all the links and info regarding your options for attending games at Commowealth Stadium:

UK parking and travel information (http://www.ukathletics.com/index.php?s=&change_well_id=2&url_article_id=15611)

If you're driving up on gameday, I highly recommend you approach and depart via Cooper Drive and try to park in the green lot (you'll need a pass, unless the crowd is down). Or you can park on any number of side streets along Cooper. It's a bit of a hike, but getting out is a breeze. If you get there early enough, you can park right alongside Cooper adjacent to the practice fields. To get to Cooper Drive: Take I-75N to the Athens-Boonesborough exit (108? I think?). Turn L to head into town. Follow this road until you pass what's left of Lexington Mall (you'll see Dave's Famous Barbeque in front). Continue past there, and you'll see Shriner's hospital on the left. Get in the left lane, the next street will be Chinoe Rd. Turn L onto Chinioe. Follow Chinoe until you hit Cooper (3rd light I think). Turn R onto Cooper. Follow Cooper until you see Commonwealth Stadium on the left.

If you're going to spend the night, you might want to take the shuttle from downtown. I would recommend staying at the Hyatt or the Radisson. You could visit the Civic Center Shops and the UK Basketball Museum, and you might be able to poke around in Rupp Arena (worth seeing, if you've never been). Gratz Park Inn is also nice, if you want a hotel on a smaller scale but yet still downtown.

If none of this helps, you can PM me and I'll give you my email and phone number.

Thanks for the reply. I am positive the info will be useful. We are staying Friday night through Sunday, I believe the wife made reservations at a Holiday Inn there.
