Some of the bama fans here that are trying to make us out to be national championship contenders are really living in wonderland.

We should just be thankful if we get to 9-0. How many of you alabama fans honestly could say that you would be disappointed if we finished 10-2 anyways? Let me rephrase that....at the beginning of the season...

We are extremely fortunate to have made it to this point without a loss. Call it luck or karma, we really haven't shown any dominace this year against good teams. Defense has kept us in every game. It was just our day for the UF game....everything went our way. Bama could just as easily have 2 losses at this point. The offense has pretty much tanked after the loss of Prothro.

We are about to play arguably the best two teams in the conference and I honestly don't like our chances against either of them. Eat a little humble pie and be glad we haven't lost a game so far.

Don't get me wrong....I'm SUPER excited that we've made it this far and hope this dream season continues but I honestly don't think we are all the way "back" just yet. I know it's easy to boast about wins and rankings but at this point we really haven't proven that much.

Your setting yourselves up for a disappointing season. Like most of you, I expect bama to be good every year but at this point (after probation) we really should just be thankful we didn't have another losing season.

Great post, but don't sell your boys short. I know you are just setting yourself up for the fall, but it's not like LSU, Auburn, or Georgia are anywhere close to unbeatable. I think it's unlikely that Bama finishes unblemished, but you have a good chance of beating any of those teams. Of the 3, I think Auburn is the one to be most worried about.
I agree with your assesment regarding Prothro...that loss REALLY hurt and changed the entire dynamic of the Bama offense. That said, the defense should keep you in every game, so it really just comes down to not beating yourself with mistakes and the like. That has certainly been a strength of this bama team thus far, so I feel that bodes well for your guys the rest of the way.

Yes, we have been really fortunate this year when it comes to mistakes. I hope we can just credit that to good coaching. As for the final 2, I think mistakes will play a HUGE role. If all teams play somewhat mistake free, I don't like our chances. LSU hasn't been very consistant though so I do like our chances at home against them better than when they travel to Auburn.

If you are a Bama fan, you expect to win. I don't know about you, but our tradition is based on dominance. If you have gotten to the level where you are "humbled that we are having a good season" I am sorry. We went through crap, yes. Look at us now, we are back on track finally with a good coach and look what we are doing. I expect to win every game we play, and you, 'sir', should be thinking the same.

I have absolutely no problem sitting here and thinking that Alabama is as good as VT and USC and better than Texas. It may not be in every aspect but Alabama's defense is definately better than any defense any of the top 3 has met this year. Yes our offensive line is our main liability but Texas and USC are not exactly known for their defenses either.

One thing Alabama has never done is run up the score on it's opponents, I am not sure if this is intentional or not but look at the 92 year and this year, The tide's margin of victory did not change due to the level of competition. They play a sucky team they play sucky, they play a powerhouse they become the giant killer. Happens alot with some teams but I have noticed it more with the Tide (probably because I watch them more closely.)

I don't fault you for your attitude it is a good defense mechanism but I had rather be cautiously optomistic personally. Anyway Roll Tide and I hope you are wrong about the last two games.

If you had told me going into the LSU game that we would have 9 wins already, I'd have jumped up and down for joy.

Now that we're here and I see what my team is capable of, if we lose to LSU I will be disapointed.

Will I be angry? No.

Will I think my team sucks? No.

Will I still think that Mike Shula deserves SEC Coach of the Year? Yes.

There is no reason that we shouldn't win our last three games.

Since the Florida game, Alabama has taken the absolute best shot from Ole Miss and Tennessee and walked a way a winner.

Mississippi State -- they're the worst team in the conference. They could only muster 7 points against Kentucky. I know they'll be fired up, but that only takes you so far.

LSU -- Will be a battle of two pretty evenly matched teams and I expect a very low scoring game (not as low as the tennessee game though).

Bama has some advantages in areas like QB and Secondary, while LSU has a better OL and DL. However, it our senior's last game at home (wow that's hard to believe). Our group of seniors are very special. They don't panic when they're down in the second half. Going through so much hell over the last four years will build that kind of character I guess. I fully expect Bama to find a way to win the game late.

The same goes for the Auburn game. I think Bama will find a way to win because they've done it.

As far as the National Title game goes..who knows. We need to just take care of what we can take care of. That's the last three games and then the SEC Championship game.

Everything else will take care of itself.

If we can finish 13-0, then I don't care if we have another National Title to go along with it. This team would have accomplished the biggest goal they had for themselves.

That being to put Bama back on the college football map faster ole Tubberville or Fulmer had ever intended.

if you want to look at old posts, you'll find most of us were predicting a 7-4 8-3 season. i was on the 7-4 bandwagon myself. to be honest, i don't think any of us really predicted that we would be undefeated at this point in time. but the difference between all of us and you is this pessism you show. sure all bama fans have become somewhat pessimistic about alabama football in the recent years, but this year has shown to be far from recent years. so now alabama is starting to win its games and everyone is looking to the moment when we will fall. i've had several of those this year already, but this team has proven me and everyone else wrong time and time again.

so while you may still have the pessimistic attitude about the season we can't help be positive. don't get on the high horse and say that you're an alumnus. guess what, i'm an alumnus too. and i will be getting my masters in a month or so from the graduate school also. there's nothing wrong about being positive about your team, especially if they're undefeated coming into its 9th game of the season.

I honestly think that Virginia Tech is the best team in the land.

Texas hasn't played anybody except a decent Ohio State team.

USC...they're excellent on offense. Their defense is horrible. They look a lot more like a Pac-10 team this year.

Last year they had a stout defense to go along with that potent offense and when they were clicking they were unbeatable. However, they're very beatable this year.

I expect Texas SOS to catch up with them in the BCS.

If the top 4 stay unbeaten I believe it'll be USC and Va. Tech and Va Tech will win that game.

I am not saying we are going to win it all, but it nice to think that. I am very thankful of the season we are having so far, with that said I am not about to stop having faith in my team and what I think they can accomplish. I believe we can beat LSU and Auburn and if two of the top three lose contend for a NT. Is it likely that two of the top three will lose one game no I dont think it is, but I am not going to stop hoping that it doesnt. We are sorry BamaTom if maybe some of us seem excited about what Alabama is doing this year. But you are right if you would have asked anyone at the beginning of the year if we would be here they would have said no, I think that is what makes it so much better, We are not suppose to be 8-0, but we are and it doesnt matter if those two close games could have been loses they werent. And as for living in a wonderland I will just keep living here as long as Alabama is playing and has a shot at the national title, will I dissappointed if they lose? There are alot (notice i didn't say all) of bama fans that come in here thinking they can talk trash because we are 8-0. I know it's all in fun to come in and discuss football and whatnot, but to talk trash because we are undefeted doesn't really show alot of class.



if you really notice we aren't the ones that start the trash talk most of the time...it's mostly geaux geaux, screaming tiger, or some other asinine poster. true i guess SG and neesy have started some in good fun, but it's inevitable since there was so much Bama bashing before the season began. if you look WAY back to the predict Bama's season, look at the results and speak again.

although i've been pinned a "homer" from some of the posters, i'd like to think i'm not one. we have one of the best defenses not just in the SEC but also in the nation. and with brodie under center anything is possible.

One thing Alabama has never done is run up the score on it's opponents, I am not sure if this is intentional or not but look at the 92 year and this year, The tide's margin of victory did not change due to the level of competition.

I am just stating what i have noticed, if you will check Alabama's previous records you will notice that they have never been a team to run up the score on their opponent. It drives me crazy year after year. Look at this year, of all the teams Alabama has played this year who has given them to most trouble? It has been the teams Alabama was expected to just roll over. I don't know why this happens and I am sure it has caused many a coronary over the years. It is just an observation and I personally wish they would run up the score just a bit sometimes so us fans can breath a little bit.

You sir seem to be the one with the problem. All you have done since you joined this site is attack me for whatever reason. Your favorite word seems to be respect but you do not practice what you preach. The negative rep that I gave you was well deserved, unlike the one that you gave me. Yes, we do moderate things, but reps usually aren't one of them.

After looking at the reps given, I think that some were not necessary, but there's not enough to make a big impact, so I'm going to leave them as they are.
