I guess when you can't be proud about your athletics, it's always good to have hott girls. I would say you are correct when you say that is Ole Miss.

Am I the only one impressed with Ethan Flatt? He looked really good to me last Saturday. Spurlock is good, but Flatt is so tall, sees the field so well, and has a good arm. I liked the play where he threw to Robert Lane, the QB who is built like a FB and runs well.

;)

I really liked Flatt, too. I think if they gave him more playing time, he would have more success (help them) with their passing game.

I think that Flatt would be a decent quarterback behind an honest to goodness Division 1 Offensive line. Our problem is that the O-Line thinks that "setting up a pocket" is an episode from Miss Judy's Sewing for Fun Show. With Spurlock you get a QB who runs whether there is a pocket or not, which compounds the problem. If the Line is not sure whether he is going to set or scramble, they look around to see where he is....at which point they lose their blocks. Flatt might get better protection simply because he is so stone-footed and NEVER leaves the pocket...even when he should.

I am resigned to the fact that our QB has been and will be devestately bad. The result, however, is interesting as it has a few kids thinking that they will be able to start as freshmen. While I think that this is a bit of a stretch, I do think what we will do is pluck a JUCO kid (we are romancing Schaffer, but it looks like we will take Ashley Palmer) to hold down the fort for two years until one of the other kids develops.

We have two experienced OL guys coming in...one JUCO and one Hargraves kid as well as a freshmen or two that will see some playing time. CEO used to live a mile or two away from Saddleback College which is one of the perrenial JUCO powers in California (3 time Nat'l Champs and have only been around since 1968). Word is that he has been working both an OL guy and a DL guy to make the jump to Ole Miss...we'll see.

I'm not sure it gets more dismal than it has been the last couple of weeks. I don't mind losing but the execution issues have really gotten to me. I used to tell the kids I coached that I didn't mind getting beat, but I hated losing. We have had a couple of games (Alabama and UTK, in particular) in which we have been competitive, but have not pulled the trigger on offense. Much of it I lay at the feet of the seniors, but I also blame Mazzone. By association, that means CEO as well.

It is, however, one thing to believe him to be responsible and another to think he should go. We should clearly wait to see what happens next year with a new crop of recruits. Rivals ranks our current recruiting class at 17 and Scout at 18. I presume a couple of teams, like Michigan, Miami, and USC will jump us before this is over with, but this is by far the best early season we have had in many years.

My God yall, I was kidding. It's not like there have been any Alabama jokes and teases on this board... Yes every team does have down years, correct. I will let you believe that one.

Isn't recruiting supposed to be one of Orgeron's strengths? I've heard that he is a gangbusters recruiter.

national recruiter of the year in 2003 /2004 .. we will see how it pans out here .. but it is already way above usual for us .. with a strong finish it could be an amazing job considering our record

You guys have a great DT coming in from JCO. 5 star Jerrell Powe. Should be very stout from playing at Hargrave. Wish we could have landed him.

Well we took him from Auburn out of High School, and he has stayed committed through Hargrave.
