Casey Dick will start for the Hogs against South Carolina this weekend. All I can say is it's about time.

Complete story is on espn.com

I agree. I've been saying this for three weeks. Johnson's had his chance and has just done nothing with it. Mortensen can't play at the D-1 level, he just doesn't have what it takes physically. Give Dick a try. People will bitch about taking his redshirt off but when you think about it, who cares? All Dick is gonna be is Mitch Mustain's backup after this year, so let him play. Can he hand off? Yes. OK, well he's already as good as Johnson.

This could backfire, but I don't think it will. We'll still be running most of the time and would want to do that regardless of the QB against USC's Defense.

I'm anxious to see him, but I'm alot more anxious to see Darren McFadden breaking into the open field.

I agree with Casey Dick getting the start. Actually I was hoping that Barthel would get the start this weekend. Oh well at least there are changes being made.

The headline in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette this Saturday should be 'Nutt inserts Dick for the first time this year'.

Nice. Dick or Johnson vs the Cocks...what difference does it make?
:D

But I also heard something interesting on the radio this morning.... why on earth would he announce that so far ahead of the game? Keep it "in the house" Nutt, and have a little surprise for Spurrier when you announce it on Friday or Saturday. Granted, there's not that much that Spurrier can do to prepare for this QB as he doesn't have game film of him in college.... but still, doesn't seem like the best move to announce it publicly this early.

Actually the headline will be:

Nutt Pulls Johnson To Insert Dick
In Battle With Giant Cocks!

Holy hell, those are some great headlines. Anything with Nutt, Dick, Johnson and Cocks has the potential to be a classic :)

Nutt likes Freshmen Dick. Hopes Spurrier's Cocks flaccid on Saturday.

Come on guys....you're talking to Cocks fans here. Of course we have the best ones because we've had years to think about it.

"Cocks get good penetration and hit the tight end in the backfield!!"

Seriously though I think Nutt picked a bad time to throw his freshman out there. He is playing against a secondary that should be pretty efficient with man coverage against the Hogs. Im sure we'll see a lot of blitzes that will shake up the QB who has never played a college game in his life. Of course, I guess Nutt figures it cant be much worse than whats been going on already. Plus, McFadden will take a lot of pressure off the QB. That kid scares me and I certainly dont look forward to facing him for the next 4 years.

Now, let me get this straight, Rabbit Cock...

A guy named Casey Dick is going to be thrust into action against the more experienced Cocks?

Sounds like a Nutt job!
:p

Okay guys.... I know this is fun and all.... but lets not let it get out of hand. Try and keep it clean.

I feel like I'm in the middle of a Beavis and Butthead episode.

How can you say that? You first must have a coach that will call a pass play of over 5 yards.

Who won't call a pass play of over 5 yards? That's just plain nutty!

The question that inherently resides here is...
Does anyone at Arkansas know Dick??

I also wonder if Arkansas had found their Dick earlier, could they have had a better chance with Bush?

When would have been a better time to do it? When we played the #1 team in the nation at home? How about the #4 team at home? Then #5 Georgia at home? Then #16 Auburn? I guess we could have started him against Mizzou St. or LA-Monroe....but what would that show? My point is there hasn't been a better time to play the freshman than right now. You must admit that the defenses of these teams (not the two patsies) are extremely tough....much more physical and talented than USC's defense. Also, USC is one of the worst teams in the SEC at stopping the run so that should relieve a lot of pressure from Dick. (hahaha). I'm not saying he's the second coming; just that this is as good a game as any to start a new QB.
