View Full Version : SEC Predictions for Nov.5!

Its Sunday and its a new week. Lets get started on this week's games.
Alabama vs. Miss. State: Its Shula and Croom once again and I'm sure the MSU players haven't forgotten about why they wanted to beat the Tide so badly last year. The Tide offense rolls again as the Bulldogs manage only three field goals. Bama 35-9.
Auburn vs. Kentucky: The Wildcats are probably the worst team in the SEC and Auburn continues to improve each week. The Auburn running game will murder that Wildcat defense in this one. Auburn 45-10.
South Carolina vs. Arkansas: The Razorbacks have had it rough so far this season. With a tough schedule they need that one big win. On the other side the USCar rush defense has been just plain disgusting this season. So basically what we have is Arkansas's run vs. USCar's pass. Maybe we have a classic on our hands. Arkansas 24-21 in O.T.
Florida vs. Vanderbilt: The Gators fans better be hoping this won't even be close. Chris Leak and Jay Cutler both have big days as the Gators run away in the 3rd. Florida 42-21.
Tennessee vs. Notre Dame: Lets step out of the SEC for a moment because everybody wants to talk about this one. People have been making comments about the lack of heart at UT this year. This game will show us just how much they have or don't have. The Vols pull the upset 24-23.

Alright keep on picking against us it has worked out so well for everyone in the last 2 games. Anyway here is my thoughts on it.
Bama 24 MSU 3 Bama gets another easy one before their first loss
Aub 35 UK 7 They'd better win by at least that much since they got jawja next
LSU 45 App St 10 LSU just taking a few hours to stretch their legs a little
So.Car 32 Arky 14 Arky gives us bowl eligibility again fellas
ND 21 UT 17 Unless their recievers start holding onto a few UT is gonna have another rough week, still have a good chance at pulling it out though.
My Predictions:
Alabama vs. Miss. State: Alabama 28-7
Auburn vs. Kentucky: Auburn 55-14.
South Carolina vs. Arkansas: USC 21-7.
Florida vs. Vanderbilt: Florida 35-28.
Tennessee vs. Notre Dame: Notre Dame 35-17.

Bama over MSU by 100. Croyle throws 9 TDs in the first qtr.
Auburn shuts out UK 45-0 but the eagle mascot is killed by a UK fan throwing him an Alka Seltzer.
LSU is up 98-0 at halftime but the drunks storm the field, tearing down the goalposts thinking the game was over. App St gets a rare win by forfeit.
Florida beats Vandy by 14. Urban proves the spread option works in the SEC.
Arkansas will beat the Cocks by 10. Let's see...Dick replaces Johnson vs the Cocks. This is Nutts! The Hogs will throw less than 10 passes but rush 60 times for 300+ yards. Hogs 24, USC 14.
ND beats the Vols by 21+. Six UT players ask for and gain asylum while in Indiana. Three more are arrested for outstanding warrants.

I wont go with scores, but just an analysis:
Bama over MSU by a lot. The Bulldogs will be lucky to score a fieldgoal against that defense. Hall seems to be stepping up to pick up some of the slack that Prothros absence left. This wont be a good game.
Auburn over UK by a lot. Not really much surprise here. Auburn is stacked at basically all positions while UK is completely banged up and didnt start with much anyway. Another game that wont be good.
LSU over App. State by a lot. This one is pretty much self expanatory.
UF wins over Vandy. Cutler will do all he can against the Gators defense, but wont get much help from the Dores defense. Vandy has a shot if they can get some turnovers but I still say that UF wins by more than a touchdown.
SC gets a win over the Hogs. While Arkansas' rushing attack will prove potent, it wont be enough to overcome the lead that SC puts up with Spurriers offense against a Hogs defense that is nothing to write home about. Our secondary should be able to do well enough in man coverage to allow us to use a lot of blitzes. Should be a pretty good game and I think SC takes the win.
ND pulls out a win over UT. I would go with UT but with there being so much controversy right now there I dont see how they can be completely focused on this game. I dont understand why Fulmer didnt at least wait until after this game to shake things up like this. I want UT to win just as much as most of the people on this board, I just dont see it happening now. I hope Im wrong about this one.

Anyone else notice how none of our SEC "buddies" picked SC? Could be some doubters in the group. I guess they think Arkansas is better at home than TN.

What's your point? It's not like we just scheduled MSU yesterday. All SEC teams go outside the conference and most don't risk a loss. I applaud UT for scheduling ND. I'm looking forward to Bama vs Penn State and FSU in a few years.

True, but the scoring margin was close to what I was thinking. I'm not saying that you have no chance of beating Ark, though I think they'll pull it out, just saying that 53-10 is a pretty big score to be predicting. :)

I agree with almost all of your picks, but I just don't see TN upsetting the Irish this weekend. Notre Dame is looking very good this year, and I just don't think the Vols have the defense to stop the Irish's style of offense.
Should be a fun game regardless. :)

I think our Defense is poised for another tough road game. Also, our special teams look very promising against USC, despite the loss. The only thing i see a problem is with the offense (as all of this season has been). The good news for the Vols is, the Irishes defense isn't anything spectacular, either.
The Vols come again against a top 25 on the road, with nothing to loose. Also, a trend in the Vols is they have 1 bad week and the week after they play great. Florida -> LSU, Georgia-> Bama, South Carolina -> ?
The Vols chances arnt too great, but it'll be close:
Notre Dame 21,Vols 14.
Also:
USC over Arkansas. A little taste of things to come. Spurrier starts to get things rolling in cockland. USC 24, Arkansas 14
Auburn over Kentucky. Kentucky just doesn't have much to stop the Tigers. Auburn 24, Kentucky 7.
Florida over Vandy: It'll be closer than the gators wanted. Coming off a big win at Gainesville, the Gators will have a little post-win syndrome, but they still pull it off. Gators 35, Vandy 28
Alabama over MSU. Bamas 9-0. Tide 45, MSU 14.

Here are my Fearless Predictions for 11/5:
First, let's get this one out of the way:
USC/Arkansas:
I don't know about this one. Yeah, I know we beat UK, Vandy & Tenn but Arky is a whole other team. Their running game is powerful and their starting QB is an unknown. He could the Second Coming of...
Wait.
We have Mitchell, Rice, Davis & McKinley on Offense. And Joseph, Simpson & the Lindseys on D. Oh, and some kicker named Brown.
And a coach named Steve Spurrier.
USC - 28
Arky - 10
Alabama 45
Mississippi State 0
Auburn 42
Kentucky 7
LSU 35
Appalachian State 0
Vandy 24
Florida 21

The winners:
Alabama over Miss. State- MSU has not much offense; Alabama has much defense...'nuff said.
Auburn over Kentucky- Puleeeze!
LSU over Appalachian State- This killer smaller school will be killed by the killers.
Florida over Vandy- It may be close, but the Gators should pull it out to keep their salvaged season alive after slipping by the Dogs last week.
USC over Arkansas- This game usually concerns me, but I've got a feeling; the Razorbacks will think the Florida Gators of old have come to town. "And the skies will darken with the volley of ten thousand arrows (footballs), and day shall seem as night."
Tennessee over Notre Dame- The Irish are ripe for the pickin'; the Vols will have another breakout game and silence the critics concerning the state of SEC strength this season. No more fumbles and dropped balls in this game. The playmakers have been in position all season; the football will stick to them like glue, and the Vols will avenge last season's upset by the Irish, thus returning the favor.
