Thanks OC! It really is a great feeling to finally win one. It's like Fulmer said all along. Spurrier is good for this conference. Another coach said "Spurrier is good for the conference but not so good for us." I think that's true, but I also think it's just going to help elevate more games to a tough battle (hopefully) and that will enhance the level of play for the SEC East.

What's really funny about that pic is the fact that those two (2) VOL fans brought bags to the game. That tells me that Spurrier IS in their heads. :D
BTW: I loved what Mark May had to say about the game on College Gameday Final!!! :D

Dunno if Spurrier was the reason why they brought the bags or not?? You've got to think, the Vols were coming into this game 3-3. That's devasting for any true Vol fan, as they haven't had a 3-3 start since 2000 when they lost to UF, LSU, and UGA.
And had to dig a little deeper and found an interesting number... 1994. That was the last time that UT started off 3-4 with losses to UCLA, UF, MSU, and Bama. The interesting thing about that, is that it was also the last year that Bama started off 8-0. Let's hope this trend keeps up for a few more weeks, as we went undefeated in the regular season that year. Of course, we lost by a point to UF in the SECCG... so we need to stop following the trend if we make it there this year. :p

Or they could have been thinking about Halloween.
I saw numerous people in costumes, including the dude who sat in front of me dressed as Winnie the Pooh.
Regardless of what they were thinking, I still laughed at that pic.

Either your comprehension of my post is not up to standards or I am not expressing myself properly. UT had beaten USC 12 times in a row. Anytime you break a streak it makes you feel good. This is why beating Tennessee means a little more and I told the Gamecocks it must feel good to beat my Vols. I remember the feelings I had when the Vols finally beat Alabama in 1982 after 11 consecutive defeats to the Crimson Tide. It uplifted a state. The win against Alabama in 95 to stop a streak of 9 games of non wins against the Tide is one of my favorite Vol memories. To many times had I seen UT teams capable of beating the Tide not be able to get over the mental hump and get the job done. The Gamecock fans know there have been quite a few games in the recent series where their team had the chance to win, but could not make the plays at the end of the game to ensure victory. The Gamecocks won the game and the team and its fanbase deserve to enjoy it.

Im supprised Arkansas fans haven't done this yet, I know we are all upset about our Coaches calls! We could have easily been 5-2, instead wew are sitting at 2-5. Maybe with Dick starting, wew can beat USC this weekend???

I am pretty proud of SC and the job they did. As a Vol fan, there is not much more that can humble you than a loss to a team you have beaten 12 years straight. Except a loss to a team you have beaten 20 and 22 years straight (Vandy and KY). I really despise Spurrier but he did a great job (not that he didn't know what was coming) and they earned that victory. Congrats to SC.
And by the way, can you really blame those people for the bags? I left early in the 4th because I expected it to fall apart....just as it did (plus my father in law had the keys and he was leaving).

Thanks for the compliments. You Tenn. fans have been very classy. You guys will be back. I have to say Columbia is elated over this victory. Now nothing seems impossible. We now know it is POSSIBLE for us to run the table the rest of the way.

It's a game where anything could happen. Red-shirt freshman QB takes off the red-shirt for his first start in SEC college football. This ain't high school. Nutt probably thinks Dick can hand the ball off and run it down our throats. Since we've been unable to stop most running teams, that may work. I couldn't understand why Fulmer stopped running against us last weekend.
However, if we can slow down your run offense at all, and sack your newby a few times, this could get ugly for the hawgs. But like I said, this is unpredictable. I'm still very tempted to bet against the line on this game.

Thanks OC, VOLjlt and others. We Cocks know what you mean, and that's what counts.
And in case you don't already know this (except for morons, and they don't count--heck, they CAN'T count :D ), all Gamecock fans everywhere, even the most insulting, have a great respect for the Tennessee Volunteers.....and a whole lot of envy. We know this is a monumental event in our history. We also know we won't beat you every year.....We just don't want it to be once in every twelve years, that's all.
THE VOLS ARE GREAT AND ALWAYS WILL BE!
