Isn't Shockley back next week? If so, what is the LOGIC in their dropping in the polls, at all?

Watch VT jump Texas in the polls when they spank Miami next Saturday. After every thing is said and done, the polls can't stand in the way of locomotive.

While I would love it, I just don't see the pollsters doing it. By voting VT ahead of UT, it would mean they'd be admitting they were wrong in their original rankings.

Wait...so, an undefeated, #4-ranked team should remain in the top 5 after losing?

I don't get that one.

/nod. i disagree about placing them below ND,but shockly comming back or not, they lost and should have suffered for it. same goes for ND who has to take a laxative to get the media out of their ass long enough to play a game

The problem is that Miami is beating the teams that VaTech needs to win in order to catch up in the computer polls. So, everytime Miami beats one of them, VaTech's strength of schedule softens a little. If VaTech wins, it will be because the computers that put them at #3 say they should...no gain. If Miami were to win, however, they would probably leapfrog Bama and go to #3....crazy, huh?

A #4 ranked team who didn't have their starting QB, lost the game in the first two possession b/c Meyer re-did his offense and caught UGA off guard, oh and took Fla's best shot after the Gators came off a bye week and were shut down in the second half by UGA's D.

I didn't say they should be in the top 5, but out of the top 10 and below ND who has 2 losses with all that above being said... how did they justify dropping UGA that far.

It's another one of those crappy media minds

UGA loses by 4 to Fla with all that above, but Miami struggles with UNC, Texas was on the verge of losing it all down 28-9 to a team with no wins in the Big 12.... but they showed great character in winning their games according to the media, but UGA obviously doesn't belong in the top 10 b/c they lost to Fla. WTF ever !! Why don't they try and justify my middle fingers entended on each hand yelling obcenities at every single one of them !

The media has and will always have a HARD ON for Notre Dame!!!! It is one of those things we are going to have to get use to. Will I agree that Georgia should fall it is complete bull sh@t that they fall behind ND. I would be willing to bet that even if UT were to beat them they would not fall out of the top 20.

I was thinking they would drop to #6 or 7 but not 10 and 11. The heart and soul of the team wasn't on the field and they only lose by 4 points to a good UF team and the media drops them 7 slots in the rankings. I don't get that. Oh well, we'll get our BCS game when we beat Bama in the SECG.
