Here are the men who worked the game:
Officials: Referee: Jeff Roberson; Umpire: Doug Linebarger; Linesman: Gary Jayroe;
Line judge: Mickey Haddock; Back judge: Mike New; Field judge: Richard Morales;
Side judge: Stanley Dixon
From what I could tell on TV, on a scale that rates officials as Poor, Weak, Fair, Good, and Great, I give these guys a Good score. Rating officials from the TV is not the best. How about those of you who went to the game. How did they do? While I hate bad officiating, I really appreciate good officiating.
Anybody know how Richard Morales is? He took a heckofa hit at the goal line.

There was one bad call, well actually they didn't even call it. It was early in the 4th Quarter, USC was at the 6 and one of the CB's grabbed Sidney Rice in the endzone but they didn't call it. It wasn't a big deal because we still got a TD.

I saw that one too scfan. You could clearly see Rice's arm being pulled back. All games have missed calls, but that one could have been huge if we didn't go on to score.

Regarding that obvious grab, the remark was made that the ball was uncatchable--they don't generally make the call in that case.

Yeah, that was the comment but that wasn't said by the officials and even the lame announcers said that usually on an obvious interference, the ref will make that known. He didn't and it was so obvious that even the usually biased announcers had to comment on it. No biggie, but like I said, those kind of missed calls are reminescent (sp?) of how many losses we've endured at cLIMPson?

Well, that is certainly true.

The officials did miss that call, but they flagged USC on the same play for illegal procedure or something like that. The interference call would have just offset the other call.

the refs didn't say the ball was uncatchable.

the refs didn't say the ball was uncatchable.
They don't have to say that it is uncatchable if they don't throw a flag, they are allowed to simply just not make the call if it was uncatchable.
Some of the "nice" or "good" refs will motion the signal over their head for uncatchable, just to let the viewers know what's going on in the heads of the refs.

I saw two pass int. calls they missed against Rice. One was in the first half and the other one you have previously mentioned. Also I am not sure that the safety call wasn't just intentional grounding. I felt the game was refed in favor of the volz but i am a homer. The bottom line is we won the game though.

I was at the game and thought the officiating was pretty good. We did get one break when they threw a flag thinking we had 12 men in the huddle. We were about to get another delay of game but got a fresh clock instead.
