The top 10 reasons why the Alabama football team is really better than they played last Saturday.

10. We had some key injuries

9. Ole Miss played inspired football

8. It was an early game

7. It was an away game

6. The game was after a bye week

5. Ole Miss played their best game of the season

4. Ole Miss is better than most people think

3. We played our worst game of the season

2. The team just needed a wake up call

1. John Parker Wilson spiked the Gatorade again!!

Same lame excuses every time they squeak one out against an "inferior" opponent. Funny how bammer homers can't just fess up and admit that they really aren't all that great.

That is # 5 to you loser. That Ga. Tech loss justs keeps getting worse and worse. Nice to see that you are playing a team this week that will allow you to be on tv. That will be sweet for the 9 people in and around opelika u that actually have tvs. RTR

The top 5 reasons it is easy to laugh at Awburn

5. Auburn went 1-7 in the SEC in 1998, fired their head coach half-way through the season, promise the job to their defensive coordinator, then hired the head coach of the only SEC team that they managed to beat, to be their new head coach, prompting their defensive coordinator to retire and later sue them for not making him coach, which he claims they promised him.

4.We'll end up having the No. 1 recruiting class in America", was the claim of Willie Northern, a 1998 signee of Auburn. The experts didn't agree ranking the Auburn class as 51st in the nation. 7 of the 28 players of that class failed to qualify, and Willie Northern himself was cut from the team.

3. Auburn has the same number of SEC titles as Georgia Tech, who hasn't been a member of the SEC in 40 years.

2. Alot of schools have had brushes with the NCAA. However, Auburn is truly in a class by themselves, when it comes to breaking the rules. Auburn is currently tied with being the most penalized team in history, and even their tennis and golf teams were put on probation...AT THE SAME TIME!!! Auburn cheated at TENNIS AND GOLF!!! Over the last 4 decades every Auburn football coach (except Tuberville), or AD, or BOTH, has had to appear before the NCAA Committee on Infractions for SERIOUS VIOLATIONS.

1. What do Camp Griffin, CENTRE HIGH SCHOOL, Davidson, George Washington, Georgia Navy P-F, Manhattan, Maxwell Field, Memphis, Santa Clara, Sewanee, SMU and Vanderbilt have in common? Auburn has an ALL-TIME losing record against each of these teams. I'm not sure which is worse, Centre High School or Vanderbilt? I guess that was before you could buy teams out of games.

that is pretty funny. it is real funny considering the fact that i work with 2 alabama fans and i heard every excuse you just named except for #1. not getting in the argument whether bama is overrated or not, but what you just said is true.

i even heard 3 in one when a guy told me, "always take the points when bama is favored on the road after a bye week, especially when they go to ole miss." true story. come to think of it, the guy was nice enough to let me in on this inside info on monday, after i had lost money on bama.

You failed to mention that the barn nearly lost their academic accreditation not once but twice in the last 8 years. Just think, if that would have happened, there would not have been a turnip to be found in Lee County for sometime. RTR!

Frank B. just knew AU would most likely BBQ the Hogs in front of a less than capacity crowd. He really had no choice but to black out the broadcast and avoid further embarrassment :o

Alafats do forget! It was your precious Crimson Turd's that had to struggle late into the fourth quarter at home this year to pull out a win over the piggies. How many yards did they gain against your tremendous (lol) defense? They gained more than you gained on them and much more than they gained against the Tigers. We heard some of the same lame-o excuses following that game and the Southern Miss game too. :p

Speaking of excuses, here are Screaming Tiger's excuses after the Southern Cow/ Ga Tech debacle:

"lol.....exactly what I did.

Takes a day to cool off after a game like that.

No worries. GT started out hot. AU recoverd and if it wasn't for all the mental mistakes and crappy calls, they would have won that one. Look at the big picture...AU had more total yards & more first downs. It wasn't so bad. The defense turned it on after the 1st and AU was wearing them down on the line after the half.

It was Cox's first start and Gibb's first game as D. Co. Both looked confused. The mental mistakes will be corrected and confidence restored after eating up a few cupcakes."

Fact is, LSU has better players this year and Auburn is playing at thier place this time. It will be no big surprise if it's thier turn to win. This Auburn team is doing just fine and I expect them to be even better next year. Puff a smoke....no sweat.

Bamamarine.....I just got back from Huntsville on business. I travel to Huntsville every month or two (usually). I ate at Tim's Cajun Kitchen last night on Jordan Lane (right next to where I-565 crosses Jordan Lane). It is sort of hard to see from the road unless you're looking for it. The food is very good. This was the 2nd time I've eaten there and I recommend it if you like cajun food/seafood.

Poooor Barner Baby!

Freakin' grow up man. You sound like Urban Cryer in here.

I know it kills you that Bama is on its way back.

If Auburn would measure its success by itself instead of making everything relative to what Alabama's doing, then you might make some noise on the national scene on a consistent basis.

However, when you only aim to better than a team that at present is 16-15 over the last 2.5 years then what the hell do you expect?

Until you dumb@ss barners realize this truth that has long been realized by Bama, Tennessee, LSU, Notre Dame, Georgia, USC, etc., you'll continue to be the red headed step child that gets bitch slapped on a consistent basis both on the football field and in the polls.
