Lane can definitely run the football and should be in the lineup somewhere. Spurlock is a great athlete who is being mishandled by his coaches. He is a sprint out quarterback, not a pocket passer. The coaching staff needs to turn him loose against Kentucky. Then somebody needs to tell somebody that somebody instituted a 25 second play clock years ago. Oh, and then there needs to be open tryouts to find someone who can placekick a football.

Hey look, I was just trying to join in the conversation and offer my observations of just a few things I see as being wrong in what otherwise looks like what may be good things happening for Ole Miss fooball. Which would prove me wrong and all of you right. I am no coach. I am just a fan of the game. A fan who is a Monday morning quarterback just like you. Or maybe you are a coach, I don't know. Either way, I don't think that my modest observations deserve such a sarcastic attack. And oh, by the way, if I really wanted to enlighten you I would.

Spiro,
You spent a week or so on the board some time ago wailing and moaning about what a sorry coaching staff we had. You were acerbic, rude, and bombastic. This part of your post...Then somebody needs to tell somebody that somebody instituted a 25 second play clock years ago. Oh, and then there needs to be open tryouts to find someone who can placekick a football...is obviously sarcastic and provocative, so I find it interesting that you are annoyed by what you percieve to be a sarcastic response.
You got what you asked for...go cry to somebody on the MSU board if you think you are being mistreated. As far as the potential for enlightenment coming from you, I will let you know when the rest of the kids get back from recess and you can enlighten them during naptime.
On another note...I am particularly proud that Drummer's response to you was to the point and contained no obvious misspellings (though it could use some punctuation work).

Provacative! Now I am proud to be that! Acerbic, rude, and bombastic ? Please. You are obviously a spoiled brat who fits all three of these. Are you a frat boy? Or are you a wanta be frat boy? Do you attend games in coat and tie sipping scotch. Or do you sit with the regular people and guzzle Old Crow?
I've been a fan of Ole Miss for a lot of years kid. I've been through good and bad with the Rebels. I call it as I see it. Just because what I say don't make you happy ain't my problem. Just imagine if we all agreed. That would make things pretty boring don't you think.
And also, I admitted that I might be wrong about this coaching staff. I also said that all of you may end up being right. I am man enough to admit that. As for Drummer, I like him and respect his opinion
You must have come in from recess early. What happened? Someone jump in line while playing duck-duck-goose and make you cry? Anyway, when the rest of the kids you were playing with come in for naptime, I hope they don't wake you up.

Well, since you asked, let's take these one at a time...you'll have less trouble following me that way.

I was a member of no fraternal organization at Ole Miss, but I have many friends who were. To my knowledge, I have never attended a football game wearing a tie, although there were a couple of games during the early seventies whose memory was erased by a number of pregame substances...some legal, some not. So, perhaps I wore a coat and tie to one of those events.
I was actually more connected to what passed as the counter-culture during my undergraduate years. That was long ago enough that I was generally clad in bell-bottoms, muslin shirts, and sandals, with a ponytail and beard. Yes, indeed, I was a child of the 60's...a hippy...with two undergraduate degrees...one a BA with a double major in English and History and the other a BA in Philosophy.
I have not drunk Bourbon of any description since the Winter of 1967 when Anthony T. and I consumed a large volume of Jack Daniels and Dr. Pepper...we didn't know any better. Currently, I perfer single-malt scotch whiskey...usually Islay, but occasionally Speyside or Lowland malts will do. I don't drink Merlot unless forced to and have grown fond of Central Valley Pinot Noirs (try Castoro cellars), but prefer Oregon (Fiddlehead Cellars is primo). White wine is for women and sissies and Chardonnay is French for horse pi$$.
I sit where I Goddamn Well Please!

Perhaps you are older than I, I am not sure what credibility that gains you with anyone. I was at the University when the redhead from Drew was the QB. His Junior Year was my Freshman year, although I did see all but three of the homegames and Jackson Memorial games that he played during his career. I also saw him in Baton Rouge and Birmingham. I survived the Kinards, Ken Cooper, Steve Sloan, and Billy Brewer
Your making me happy is of about as much consequence as anyone else making me happy....NONE. Be my guest to talk to your friends about your necessity in their lives. You are likely to discover two things.
1. Talking to ALL of your friend will take about 14 minutes.
2. Most of them will end the conversation with "Who are you again?"
And also, I admitted that I might be wrong about this coaching staff. I also said that all of you may end up being right. I am man enough to admit that. As for Drummer, I like him and respect his opinion
First, I am so happy for Drummer. I am sure that he has taken the day off to celebrate your respect...I will attempt to lumber along without your respect...teetering between despair and hopelessness, I am sure.
Second, you did not need to tell me that you were wrong...we told you that weeks ago. In the future you may find it easier to listen to us...it will save you embarassment of such admissions.
You must have come in from recess early. What happened? Someone jump in line while playing duck-duck-goose and make you cry? Anyway, when the rest of the kids you were playing with come in for naptime, I hope they don't wake you up.
Now this last bit is both clever and original. Did you think it up all by yourself? Oh no. That's right, I did.

Technically, the word is "wannabe," but I am sure that you have your own little world with different laws of gravity and everything, so spell it anyway you wish.
Actually, what I want to be is not a frat boy, but a bonehead, loser yokel who envies frat boys and resents the fact that they got all the women and good jobs after college. Sadly, since you winning rave reviews for your performance in that role, it is likely that I will have the opportunity.
